Typical closure for those roads is some time around the first couple of weeks in October. I'm betting the storms coming in this weekend and early next week will probably shut them down for the season, so go this week if you are wanting to do it this year. Just beware that on the North Cascades highway, there are some shaded corners where you go in and all of a sudden, a nearby waterfall makes the road surface really wet. Pucker moment for sure, and the first time I hit it, only that I usually late apex saved me from staining my seats.
Oh, and another word of warning - the maple leaves are all over the roads and it took quite a while to get them out from the various nooks and crannies after I got home. They get stuck **everywhere**.
