Default So, Whatcha' All Do Today

Nice day, I have been a shut-in all weekend owing to various family obligations. I wanted to go the Museum of Flight yesterday, but my Son-in-law had a flat tire on his Ducati and couldn't get home in time to get his truck and get over here to pick up his kids.

I had hoped to go down to Issaquah to attend Salmon Days and may do so yet if my first wife ever gets back from the casino or the North Bend outlet mall sometime soon.

So, maybe I can at least "enjoy" what the rest of you did, vicariously and at least have something to read on the forum while I charge the battery in the motorcycle.

Took a drive in the Corvette to Longbranch on the Key Peninsula and stopped in Gig Harbor for an early dinner. Very nice, laid back afternoon.

I got the Vette all cleaned up Friday and then on Saturday the wifey and I drove over to have lunch at Anthony's at Point Defiance....great food and great views. Then we drove over to the mall and saw Denzel's new movie, The Equalizer....great flick.

Today we drove over to Gig Harbor to spend some time with my mother who is in an assisted living facility. Then we went to Ruston Way for a walk on the waterfront...more great views and good times.

Some great weekend weather for driving Red Racer.

Just got back from a 3day/2 night Fall Cruise with Mt Hood Corvettes( 20 cars). The weather was fantastic in the 80s and sometimes 90s. Went to Seven Feathers for Fri night and the So route to Diamond Lake and then to Crater Lake . Around the rim,up to the top. FANTASTIC DRIVE !!
Then to the Riverhouse Resort in Bend for Sat night and get together in the "party suite" Great Resort on the river, great company and lots of food and booze!!
Headed home today and went home via McKenzie Pass to the Lava Fields. Beautiful forest and "Corvette roads" to the fields. It is a MUST SEE!! Lava as far as you can see.
Tired but it was such a great weekend. see mthoodcorvettes.com website for photos! Thank you Dick and Pam Clarke and Peter and Nancy Gudekunst for putting this great trip together.

Wonderful trip, no doubt. I love the Tacoma waterfront near Ruston and Gig Harbor is a place I hope to live sometime.

The wife and I went to church, then out to Anthony's at Point Defiance for lunch, and then a nice stroll through the Zoo and Aquarium. Drove the BMW M roadster with the top down.

Got the car cleaned up this morning and then the wife and I took a drive up to Burlington to the Pendleton outlet store to look at a new blanket. Didn't find what we wanted but the drive was quite nice not much traffic.

Took the Vette out today and drove my HS Son to his Soccer game up in Lakemont. Did little shopping later, and then parked it deep in the garage. Good chance it was the last drive on the year, some interior work to do on it this winter....

I was at the Exotics at Redmond car show in the morning then went to the MoF to listen to Lt Col. CE "Bud" Anderson talk about his adventures over Europe. All on a single tank of gas from PDX

Feel free to take a look around and see if you find anything else interesting to look at.

Lets see now. For Sunday I did 1hour, 20 minutes on the treadmill, watched football and BBQ'd chicken and corn. Nice day for that. Tonight, bbq chichen wings and football. Go Seahawks.

I think I'm beginning to understand why I love my C2 Aero Lightweight (one of 42) so much. You people actually use your Corvettes for the intended purpose. That's why I bought one.

I love some of the trips y'all have made this past weekend and that's great. You've even provided me with some ideas for day trips I had not considered.

I realize that we're not a club, per se (could it be, given the presence of people like Poodle Girl, Seattle C4 - Ken - Jet Ninja, Julie, Aaron, Mr Peabody, and Red Racer that we may be in danger of becoming a gang) ."Hey, man, it's not a gang, it's a club" (John Belushi and the Killer Bees, SNL c.???)

Anyway thanks for the responses. I've now got some fresh ideas for weekend trips... How did several of you avoid running into each other since you seemed to be in the same neighborhoods?

Anyone make it over to Chelan this weekend for the "Mahogany and Merlot" gathering? I didn't, sadly.

Phil, are you that insecure that you have to keep repeating that "one of 42" line. J/K......

Not at all. I have the documentation to prove it. Insecurity has nothing to do with it. Just having a little fun... I'll explain it to you sometime. Probably is getting a little old to some.

I woke up early and headed up to Canada to autocross for probably the last nice weekend of the season. Got in ~15 runs on a challenging course, drove some other cars, was 3rd overall on index and got to see some of my canadian Corvette folks I got to know better on the 2014 caravan. Left in the dark, got home in the dark but no complaints.

Still have a couple more weekends of running but the sun might be absent or liquid.

On sat I went to griots cars and caffeine and ran into Fred. In the afternoon went to mof and heard a nice talk by a true war hero and ace pilot. Col Bud Anderson. Great stories and insight. Thanks, Phil for the guest passes.

Seapar, I saw a C5 Z06 out in the back of MoF, didn't notice any C7's on my walk in.

I met up with some "other" local mustang aces One has a Shelby GT 500 and the other has a GT.

Took a long drive on Monday. Went up to Artist Point beyond the Mount Baker ski area, and then drove the North Cascades highway to about 20 miles from Winthrop before turning around. Had the roads all to myself, and no enforcement, so I got to run fast and really enjoy the performance.

From just below Artist Point:

And a couple of shots while driving the North Cascades Highway:

Wow. Now that's something I'd like to do before the snow flies. Beautiful pictures...thanks for sharing.
