He owned the car for one hour. Don't know how you explain this to the wife http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story...olorado-122214

From the followup story at TFL.Com:
Also, the performance tires that it wears from the factory cannot perform well at temperatures near 32F (as it was in this case).

So he had the car about an hour with 707 HP on 275/40ZR tires. I would want at least 335 series rubber on the rear of a car like that irregardless of the temperature or the driver's level of competence.

It would be fun to listen to his phone call to the insurance company....

Its a 700HP SUV, how'd you expect it to handle. People get seduced by the looks without looking at the facts.

Much more like a Chrysler 300. And I seem to recall a few early wrecks of ZO6s.

John, That said, in this day and age and with far too many lawyers it's surprising that the manufacturer would allow this car to be sold to anyone with the cash - or, more likely, a good credit rating. Didn't Chrysler, with their ASC series of models once require a potential buyer to hold an SCCA license?

Of course, money "talks" doesn't it?

As others have said already, the conditions were not very good.

Maybe it's god's way of cleaning the gene pool of any who would buy that color.

Okay, okay, I'm not known on this forum for my discretion. I'm a graduate of the Poodle Girl Academy of Good Taste and Appropriate Public Behavior. What did you expect?

Glad nobody was hurt though. Save for, possibly the insurance company.

Absolutely, cause you have to respect that HP no matter the car. If you don't, you'll end up in a ditch or a curb. My 95 M3 with maybe 220rwhp I can drive like a madman anytime anywhere, my Z06 no way. The Z is even lighter than the M3 by about 75lbs....

That said at least a good handling Corvette can driven a lot harder than any Dodge/Chrysler car cept the Viper....as long as you respect the power and how and where you use it...
