[QUOTE=XC6VETTE;1589082099]Well, I guess I now know what it feels like to be not relevant. Oh well.

That said, I clearly brought the wrong car. The Vette felt awkward....where as a black Evoque Dynamic Coupe was featured! Who knew, Grandpa got game!

These kids aren't so bad

They aren't any different than you and I, Walter. Like with every young age group, there tends to be an informal if cool, dress code. Did I suggest they were somehow "bad"? I guess it might have been because from what I saw I made some assumptions based on my own life experiences. Look what happened to me; I have you as a friend (although it was't meant to be that way, but I no longer need a subject for my thesis on abnormal human behavior). My photo in the Mt Rainier yearbook in my senior year had a stamped TBA stamp over my photo. I will however, suggest that I think a lot of these people were a few years older than you and I were at that period in our lives. After my birthday party last week I'm convinced that we've al been given an extra 10 years of "bonus time" anyway.

In retrospect the Evoque may have been a better choice of conveyance, but I doubt that many would have paid attention. Did you check out the vendor booth with all the stickers? They had quite a variety and well-priced. Two of them actually didn't have a single "F-word" on them. I almost bought you one, but didn't understand what the rest of the message was since it was in Japanese.

Naw, today's youth will do okay. Even if they are 5 years older than we were at this stage.

Did you get my note about Chelan?

No, you didn't imply bad nor did I mean to. I was actually fascinated by the people, the cars and booths. I would have loved to grab a lawn chair and a beverage and spent some time people watching. Heck, we coulda got magic markers and score cards.....though I only saw one 10...and that turned out to be my reflection in a chrome bumper.

I also have to say....and I think to your point....I'm glad to say the car hobby is alive and well! These kids are as deep into the hobby as any of us have ever been. All these cars were in some state of modification and most folks were gathered around one car or another "bench racing". Even the gals seemed to be included which was nice to see. Makes our Corvette meets pretty lame by comparison.
The one sticker I saw....on the left rear fender lip...on a car near the tables....said "Bitch". I still don't get it

Yes, I got your note and have all the single malts at the ready....and Dewars for "the help"....although I feel silly being chauferred in an Evoque coupe.....

Hey, did you gift me the Dewar's? I merely assumed that that (exquisite very expensive single malt Islay scotch that was delivered by Loomis Armored Cars was from you). But, NNOOOOOHHH apparently not. But, hey, Dewars is fine. Certainly good enough for the women we go out with. Maybe Pat or Fred did it? I know Fred thinks more highly me than he does you and Pat, but c'mon; only you would find a Scotch that's older than the person you're giving it too.

You know what? I'll bet you gave me both. That's got to be it. Now I should probably grill Pat and Fred on what they (literally) brought to the table)

Is there any simple way one can somehow find out what thread they're on so as not to ramble on about personal discussions about who deserves single malt Scotch rather than say, Dewars? (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Was this the thread I started last night about the XXX Show?

Mary thinks we need to buy another Porsche. Not that she likes them, but we rarely went to any Porsche Club events and she's becoming nervous around you. I don't know if you noticed how closely she stayed around Fred and Connie at the party...

How come the moderators are allowing us to get away with this gibberish and wandered off track? Huh?

Where was Red Racer today?

How come we never hear from Joe and Julie any more?

Gotta run. Mary says it's "Grab a Grand" night at the casino.

Geeezzz Phil, I'm trying to enjoy the fire pit and my "date". Does Peanut Gease and gambling really mix?

No, I brought Ardbeg (at Aaron's suggestion) to the wake as I can't afford that single malt Islay crap....which is why I'm on the patio drinking Dewars now.

I also brought Archie Mcfee....and am awaiting you rants anxiously.

Well...

I was just gonna cut back a couple of overgrown bushes in the backyard before they started blooming and then leave for the XXX but when I got started, I saw that there was so much more that needed to be done. I hadn't been back there since last Fall and it really needed some attention. So....I got on a roll and didn't finish until 4 o'clock or so.

The times when I really want to get things done in the yard occur somewhat infrequently, so I figured I'd better get as much done as I could today while I was still out there.

Yardwork: Still not my favorite thing to do.

But can we get Goverment to do something worthwhile for a change and mandate baseball cap wearing instructions? (bill forward please)? It's a visor for Craps sake!
The hats turned sideways I can live with if all their pants are pulled up and belts cinched to keep them in place. I can't tell you the number of times I've wanted to yell FIRE! and roll the video to see a bunch of kids limping at full steam rather than pull their pants up.
