Burning Brakes
Hi Fred,
Still checking them out. Have three very different car that I am considering. A California which my wife and I can use for trips, a 599 GTB that is an animal but has issues with weak suspension pieces and a F430 Spider which is the best all around car for me. It has the room to put luggage in but not as much as a Cali. I prefer a ragtop which the 599 is not but the other two are. Need room and comfort for that drive to Florida. So you can see it will be a tough choice. No car fits all needs perfectly, but which one gets the closest? Right now I am leaning towards a blue with red interior Cali that is just beautiful. Matches my Z. While it might not be the fastest Ferrari it does 0-60 in 3.8sec, 1/4mi in 11.9, top speed of 194mph plus it is a convertible. I think it will do what I am after but want to check the others out before I do anything. I will let you know what I do when it happens.

I drove a Ferrari 430 Coupe last Saturday down in Shelton at Sanderson field, liked it. But what I really liked was the Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni edition I drove after. It just felt tighter at speed and in chicanes, plus it had a bit more HP and the sound of that V10! Wicked!

Are y'all taking 202 Woodinville-Redmond RD? If so, I'll be on the right shoulder just past 109th coming into Redmond at 7:45.

Got there a bit late with #4 Son Jacob, parked outside.
Nice meeting up with Joe, Mike, Fred, Lonnie and others. Missed Walter but I heard he had a potty training issue with his Stingray. Found the car with a most unpresentable puddle under it, but no Walter.
Seriously, hope you get that fixed quickly, big bummer!!!
Nice turn out, lots of new cars showed up! Great start to the season!

Great turnout today and lots of good eye candy. Various new models making the scene. Tik had his new Shark Z06 there, looking good and track ready. I'm sure they'll be pics posted soon.

No big deal, no real damage done....and in the end it's tucked away inside Lee Johnson's for a quick hose connection fix.
Nevertheless, a bit embarrassing....at least until Phil showed up.

Never saw hide nor hair of Phil? Sure it wasn't some part of your imagination Walter? Or maybe he was busy painting Easter Eggs in Center Court there.....Hmmm.

I Now Love Runflats
I had an interesting ride home. About 10 miles from RTC I instantly had 0 psi of pressure in my left rear tire. Slowed to 50 mph for about the next 40 miles and made it home. I can imagine the comments in the other cars on the highway. Probably went something like this: "Look at that idiot with a ZO6 driving 50 mph. Must be an old fart". After getting home I put the car on my lift, removed the wheel, and this is what I found:
I just dropped it off at Discount Tire and they are going to see if it can be fixed. If the hole is bigger than 1/4", it can't be patched and plugged. If that's the case then I'll be sending $520 to Tire Rack for a new one. But I now have a great appreciation for runflats.

I'll bet (hope) it's repairable. What is that anyway? Almost looks like a coil of some kind? Still sucks though.
Looks like a bad day for some of us. Good to see you all....never did get to walk the show!
Hey, hope you didn't scratch your glasses when they fell....been there done that.

I had a similar incident nearer the tire's edge where a long nail went through the tire and then up and into the sidewall. This was near Baker, Oregon on my way back from Denver. It was a slow leak so I kept stopping to air it up until I made it home. Discount Tire would not fix it due to the sidewall damage so had to buy another 335x30x18 Pilot Sport.
Hope they can fix yours Fred.

Just picked up the tire from Discount Tires. It's fixed and they didn't charge me anything. How's that for service.
Walter, no scratches on the glasses. I guess I've been lucky today.

Yeah, I'm a long time Discount Tire Customer, though shops vary. The one in Redmond right off the 202 has new sunken jacks, so even very low cars can go on the lifts. I used to make them use hand jacks on mine....

Walter, no plans as of yet. The big 70. Catching up with Phil, but I look much younger. My oldest daughter and oldest granddaughter will be visiting from Aug 10 through Aug 21 so that period will be rather full.

On the other hand, there is no "Nordstroms" for Tire Repair is there?
So, Walter, when's the "Leaking Lena" gonna be done? Need a ride? My Mazda 3 is warmed up and ready to head out to Snohomish at 65 MPH and 41 MPG" Just saying' I'm here for you buddy. Besides, Mary wants to go to the pancake and pasta breakfast at our local marriage counselor's Church of the Truly Unforgiving" and I'd love to get out of that again. If you promise not to tell, I can explain that I'm at the Zoo helping to pack the elephants in bubble wrap for the trip to OK City. Kinda like "Go Sonics, and take the Elephants With You".
John (Jet) I was hoping you'd be there today, but didn't see you and left early anyway because Walter was making fun of me. I'm very sensitive. I will admit that new ZO6 was truly stunning. What a car. I like it more than I thought I might.
Of course, for that kind of money I can take Mary to Iceland to explore volcanoes. Something she hasn't called me for 30 years. Probably my drinking problem, ya' think? She just called from Shelby's "Candle Party" to tell me she's on her way home.
I suspect it's another evening (I can no longer call it a "night" since I run out of money so quickly) at the casino or at Tutta Bellas' in Issaquah so she can make me drink Chianti (no fava beans) long enough to give into her gambling addiction.
Oh, what's going on tomorrow?

Great seeing everyone today. Nice meeting Jacob, number 4 son John! Glad we saw it was just a teenie line loose leaking dex cool Walter. Fred, I was trying to catch you on the way home. When I couldn't keep up I decided to shoot out your rear tire. Phil it was good to see you up before 10AM and not working on some crazy boat. Nice meeting you Lonnie and your son. Joe the red racer looked pristine..Tik's car had it all..he was surrounded so some of us didn't get to congratulate him. Pat, you missed another AMG63 wagon! Sorry I forgot a few names as old age sucks! Great talking to you all. Cheers to the new C7 owners ...

Very nice seeing all the regulars Mike, Walter, Fred, John and meeting TIK and Heavy Lifter and son. But tell me, who was the "George" that John mentioned? I must have missed him.
So when's the next GTG?? Days are getting longer and driving time is here!
