Default Italian Cars @ XXX on Sunday

Looks like Italian car day at the on Sunday. I've always enjoyed this show because, typically, there are some interesting cars to be seen that don't often show up at E@RTC. Lamborghinis and Ferraris are great, and will likely be there, but once in a while I love to look at old Alfas (I've had 4 so confess I'm still an Alfisti at heart) and some Fiats, maybe a Lancia or two...

Just sayin'

What time does that run?

I am intending on meeting up with some friends as far north as Everett, but I don't know what time they will meet or how long I'll be. It's an aviation group (locals with Mustangs ) and 1 special guest visiting from out of town.

I see from their website it runs from 8 am check in to 3 pm. If it works out I'll stop by and take a look, either on the way up or back.

Presumably it's an all day affair (longer than any of Walter's dalliances)but like many such informal shows, people tend to arrive early and leave early. In my estimation, if you get there before 1:00 or so, you'll see everything.

I'm thinking 9:30 am now. I'll take some photos and hope to see some Alfa's.

I stopped by the Cascade Cars & Coffee this morning. They must have had between 80 and 100 cars today. Several MP4-12C, 3 or more Vipers and 7 or so Corvettes along with too many Mustangs to bother counting.

You might even be early at the XXX to se everything, but better early than late.

Your mention of the Cars & Coffee event serves to remind me of when some of us used to drive down to Portland just to see the coolest cars. Bob Tindle's lot was always a must see and I rarely left town without something from Radkes on Columbia. The Portland Roadster Show was a must see and better than anything Seattle put on during the same period.

Even during my Alfa Romeo and Porsche years, Portland was always the place to go see the best cars and the most active people in the hobby. The enthusiasm does seem to have waned, by comparison, but it kinda' seems we have a few folks up here that spend their money as I would if I had their money, but Portland will always remain on my mind as the best car place north of California.

Just wish your UO team wasn't quite so arrogant. I thought that was always a designated characteristic of the Huskies.

These casual events can surprise us. Last summer we were strafed by a Messerschmidt.

An ME-109 or a Kabinroller?

There are a couple of ME-262s hanging out up there...

The 13yr old Son and I took the Vette and got there a bit after 11am. He used my first DSLR and took pics and I also took a few with mine, put them up on Google albums. And yes, we took a lot of the same pics, and it was good to see the La Ferrari again, he took off yesterday before we could walk over.....

Son's pic's (Ferrari Freak!)

JET's Pics

Mike and Sue (NoFakeJake) showed up as we were leaving....

Hey John and Jake....thanks for sharing those beautiful pics. That blue one seemed to be your favorite as well as mine of all the ones you photographed. Gorgeous car.

Thanks Joe, yeah, not everyday you see such a nice car with such a stupid name. Ha Ha....

Also, look closely at the exhaust on the Pantera engine bay, it was wicked. Cross-Overs into huge primaries into Borla mufflers....all straight shot out the back....

Thanks for the direction John.. That Pantera set up was crazy cool!

But I am still in disbelief of a BLUE Ferarri? who said money can't buy everything..

Thanks for sharing the great photos, John. I'd never imagined a La Ferrari in blue but it is striking.

I used to drive Fiats, Alfas and Lancias, with a couple Ferraris thrown in for good measure.

Then again, I was one of the few crazies who worked on them for a living. I drove the **** out of those Italian cars and as long as you checked fluids and kept tightening things, they ran great and had a lot of soul.
