Default World of Speed photos (including some just for last901)

Cascade Corvette Club (Eugene) and Beaver State Corvette Club (Albany) teamed up to tour the World of Speed Museum today. Very nice place with some spectacular racecars from the past. I was partial to the drag racers, but there are plenty of other racers to make any speed-demon thankful.

Thanks for thinking of me. Those are some great shots of the boats. I was especially pleased to see some of the vintage dragsters. Is that yellow dragster the original "Mooneyes"Too often that sport doesn't get its fair share of representation in such museums. I joined the museum a couple of weeks ago and am anxious to get down there.

I think I remember reading that it is the original Mooneyes - 283 ci with a unique blower system.

A few more photos, including two of Mickey Thompson's Pontiac powered Challenger series. They have all four there.

The Mooneyes car is a tribute, not the original.

Stopped by the museum today and there's a gorgeous 63 split window Corvette there. Its gold on gold with 11,000 original miles.

Great to have this museum in the Portland area, we needed a place to get a good car fix, I'll especially appreciate it over the winter months.

We're heading down to Lincoln City this Thursday and since we're now members will have to find the time to stop by and check this place out.
