I skinned my targa top in carbon graphite this is after the first layer of resin. Now it sits for 24 hours before another coat, a good sanding, touch up, and some UV inhibitor clear paint, and it will look factory

I drove it to pick up my granddaughter to take her to American Girl at the Alderwood Mall where I got her a few things for her doll collection. Went to Sub Zero for some ice cream afterwards.
And yes, that is a hair salon for dolls. Don't laugh.

I decided to take the top off for my "quick" jaunt to Tacoma to drop off some work. I arrived there 1 1/2 hours later, so round trip was almost 2 1/2 hours on a Thursday afternoon. And I didn't bring a hat...
The carbon fiber looks good! Can't wait to see the finished product.
Joe - that ice cream sounds pretty awesome on a beautiful day like today.

The M3 is down atm which is good timing with the awesome heat (I love this weather!) so I'm daily driving my Z06. Just got back from our week long Alaskan Cruise 2 days ago, good time for a 3 day weekend!
Looks good Erik!

I did my final layup of resin on my targa top today, and I was literally employing the wife to wipe my face so I wouldn't sweat on my work piece, so I totally understand, even in my late 20's, it is exhausting! Carbon work is mostly waiting, and watching a lot of cable tv, followed by about 45mins of intense focus, and hurried patience haha! If your off by as much as 1.5% on your hardener-epoxy ratio, your epoxy will either A.) NEVER harden, or B.) Get so extremely hot once it kicks, that you run the risk of your resin auto-igniting if it's in a paper cup. That and as much as a 10 degree difference in your working conditions will either make your cure time 48+ hours, and an hour of pot life, or 11 hours to cure, with 10 minutes of workable pot life! (All depends on what materials you choose, this happens to be the case with the resin system I like to work with...from personal experience over the years haha). So forget about being able to run your air conditioner, and better put away that fan! Because after allllll that work, one bug, one hair, can ruin the finish. Grueling...but fun don't get me wrong

Happy 4th!! The heat wasn't bad to get my header gaskets done - I started at 5am in my garage.

Walter, don't respond to this the way I anticipate you will. I'm not talking about anything inflatable.

Absolutely nothing. It sat in the garage today just like it did yesterday and the day before and the week before that. I think I'm getting bored with it. Maybe it's time for something new and different.

The shock of a car payment is soon forgotten when you get a wiff of the new car smell
