Stolen 1969 Camaro convertible
Our friends' 1969 Camaro convertible was stolen from their locked garage yesterday. This was in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
I want to put the word out. The car is blue, with a black interior and black top. It is badged as a 307, but actually has a 350. It has automatic transmission. It has the standard (non RS) grill, exposed headlamps, and chrome rally wheels.
It has British Columbia collector plates B42-900.
It will likely have damage to the bodywork, as the thieves scraped it dragging it out of the garage. The car was stolen without keys. There was no witness to the break in or theft, so it is unknown whether it was transported with an open or enclosed trailer.
The VIN is on the system as stolen, as are the licence plates. Anyone purchasing parts in the PNW for a 1969 Camaro should be vigilant.
Please keep an eye out for this beloved car, owned by super nice people.

Update: car has been found, still in Surrey, abandoned. Why the thieves would go to such lengths as to break it out of a locked garage, have to trailer it away, and then just walk away from it, less than 48 hours later, is a mystery. It may have been the car was so hot, with so many people posting photos of it on Facebook and passing the "be on the lookout for" messages, they just decided it wasn't worth the risk to either sell or part out. Anyway, the owner will be reunited with his Camaro tomorrow. Hopefully the damage is not too serious, and it is back on the road again soon.
