Looks like April 14th, 5-8pm is the next date. Noted my calendar and weather permitting should be there. I only live about 3 miles from the museum and a supporting member.

Looks like fun and a nice way to spend a few summer evening hours. Unfortunately, the traffic has become so bad lately, especially on I-405 I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation coming all the way from Sammamish.

The solution is to head down in the evening the night before after the traffic has thinned out and grab a motel nearby.

I did that a couple of times with Wong's Performance in Vancouver and Turbo Technology in Tacoma. No problem being there at 8:00 a.m. when they open that way.

Point taken, but it's a 3-hour event and an overnight stay seems kind of silly to hang out with a bunch of car guys at an event that doesn't start until late afternoon. I've been to the museum recently and so really don't need to go again until there are some new exhibits.

If I was going to see Tom Wong, I would head down to Vancouver the day before. Thanks for the suggestion.

I agree the area traffic between the military bases and Federal Way on I-5 is really bad between 4-6 pm. Maybe doing a late afternoon lunch or early dinner in the area would be an option to avoiding some traffic.

Not a bad idea... Fish and Chips at The Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor might be a better reason than to drive all that way just for the Cruz' in.

Lots of places along the Tacoma waterfront, not far from the Car Museum. Johnny's Dock is probably the closest and located on one of the waterways. Also consider a brief cruse along the Tacoma waterfront and continue through Point Defiance Park around the "5 Mile Drive" then loop back to the Car Museum.

Thanks for the list. We've been to several of the places you mention. In fact, I'm beginning to think it might be more fun just to go hit a couple of the bars and forget about the whole Cruz in altogether.

Wife and I were there a couple of days ago. Can't decide which was better, the food or the magnificent views. One of our all-time favorite places to dine in Tacoma.

As I'm currently Vetteless, I'd hate to show up in my 2001 supercharged Buick Regal GS and steal all the attention away from the Corvettes, Porsches, Lambos, etc., so I going to pass on this one.

Kudos to HDLARRY for the list of Tacoma waterfront restaurants.

We do NOT recommend Harbor Lights unless you like terrible food, geriatric patrons, and an arrogant manager.

Someone mentioned the Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor; and if the weather is nice, seating on the deck provides a great close-up view of the harbor and it's traffic.

Another Anthony's is just down the street with wonderful harbor view, and you'll pass other great dining options along the way.
