Default Looking for my next vette ....

Gentlemen, … I’m looking for my next vette.

I’ve long boarded the inter waves on every site I could think of including all of the forum vendors and the sites of all of the local dealers. I’m not in any hurry but I’ve not found exactly what I’ve been looking for.

If by chance you know of someone in your group who is looking to sell a well maintained, low mileage, 12 or 13 GS coupe equipped as follows I’m willing to pay the right price for the right car.

location is less important to me than the fact that you know the car.

Must be: 12 or 13 GS Coupe, Auto, 3LT, MSRC, (5K – 20K miles)
Nice to have: NPP, Chromes

Color preferences
Crystal Red / Cyber Grey / Night Race Blue / White on Red / Black

If you know someone please let me know.

Sorry, the green vette is not for sale or trade.

Jeez, Mark. People in Hell would like ice water too. (something my mother used to say to me when I wanted something and had not yet acquired spoiled brat status. Have you tried the Corvette used car division to see if they will build one for you?

Thought by now that Young Grasshopper might have convinced you to buy a WRX. He nearly did me.

Oh man, Joe at Speedway Chevrolet in Monroe (his website is joeknowscorvettes.com) has a 2013 Cyber Grey GS with 4,000 miles, and a 2013 Night Race Blue GS with 19,000 miles, on the lot right now! IA Don't know the cars personally, but I trust Joe. I bought my Corvette from the guy after all lol.

mr. Peabody:

sometimes the vehicle that has your name on it, is in the most unusual of places.

this last corvette i purchased was in a used car lot of all places, and had been sitting there for over 90 days. so far, after a lot scrutiny, it has been revealed that it has been well taken care of and maintained.

take your time

Erik, I've seen them both and the one with only 4K on it is nice but neither of them has MSRC so I'll just follow Cherokee's advice and take my time

and perhaps a nice white one with a red interior will show up in an odd place.

Well jeez Phil you already have a custom made corvette (1 of only 42 after all) I just want one that's a nice color

WRX is not my cup of tea .... the ride is a bit harsh.

Hey Mark....I'm gonna piggyback on your thread and say that I'm in the market too for a similar vehicle. Went looking today around South Puget Sound area and among other cars I saw was the Overpriced Vehicle Of The Year: a 2013 LT1 base C6 for $45K. This was just after I'd seen a 2010 4LT GS at Jet Chevy for $41K. Of course the '13 only had about 9K miles and the '10 had about 25K miles....I'm sure that made the difference...

Lots of tempting finds online...Autotrader and Car Guru... I've got my eye on a couple of 'em and am almost ready to get a plane ticket to fly out and take a closer look.....I'm looking forward to some summer cruisin' and GTG's...

Life is good...

I am assuming the next one will be Torch Red? I'll keep my eyes open down here for both of you.

Thanks!

I was thinking of toning it down somewhat a getting a Crystal Red this time...you know....more subtle...more appropriate for my advanced age....

But if the right Torch Red shows up in my search, I may just have to force myself to get it.

That's not a whole lot of 'toning down' there, Keith!

Yes, I can understand why a person your age might prefer a color other than red. I had no choice; all the (42) Aero Lightweights were red. It was the lightest color and only one coat was applied. That wouldn't work well with the metallics. Monterey red, for example, would have added 1.2 lbs to the weight of the car.

The WRX only feels a bit harsh when driven in the manner of the Young Grasshopper.

Yes, you may have hit upon something there ........... but the young man works 7 days a week these days so we have to cut him a little slack

It's a nice car but it looks to be a vert. Might be the perfect car for our friend Duckvette

Thanks Mark, I think we'll stick with the "stealth" Cyber Gray for a while yet.
