Default Thanking my lucky stars it was only a short off-road trip!

A semi ran me off the freeway on-ramp to work this morning. I'm very lucky I didn't flip. I remember thinking (as I'm 45 degrees to the lane I'm supposed to be in, and up a steep embankment, on the grass, and looking at the stars) oh god, why? As I hit a mile marker post; heeling over my front end, it hammered my headlight bucket with the reflector on top, which crushed my headlight bucket. Not a fun morning, but, I am ok, I'm just a little pissed off. Got off pretty easy for the ride.

Gotta watch out for those semis. One of them ate Walter's Z06 a few years back leaving him Vettless. Looking at the picture from the wrecking yard he was very lucky to walk away.

Sorry for your encounter but with your talent I'm guessing you will have it as new shortly.

Default let us know how your car is doing

very bad news about your accident and the damage to your machine. as the days go by, hope that you are not hurt and that the vette is repairable without too much trouble.

I'm glad you got out without injury Erik. Sorry for the damage to the car.

You may need an alignment from the four wheeling. Were there any curbs involved?

Hopefully there is no hidden damage.

I have a lift, and I've already checked it out. It tracks true, and there appears to be no damage underneath. However, if anyone has a drivers side headlight assembly, that they are willing to part with, I would gladly pay for it! Any color.

Quite a ride, for sure. Glad to see damage was minimal and you're okay.

Please....

That's like saying women are dumb sh*ts!!!

Not true. Maybe rewind your thought process for a second. Idiots come in all colors, shapes, sizes, and genders, right

Thanks all I looked into the damage a little deeper, and discovered the motor casing for the headlight is split in two, as well as all the bracket members being bent up as well. There is no hope of accurately rebuilding it, and the cheapest one I can find is $470 before shipping/tax!!! I'm considering just putting that money into buying the Radio Flyer SLC v.3 fixed headlights instead. It means I won't be driving my car at all for a while, but I should have the $1200 saved to get them by mid summer :/

I just found a guy that has a drivers headlight assy, without the glass bulb housing, or the face trim ring BOTH of which were the only salvageable parts from my wrecked one, and for only $175!!! It looks like I'll be on the road sooner than I thought.
