John,
Glad to hear you made it out alive. Hope you have a full recovery. We'll be pulling for you.
A Porsche crashed on Maple Valley - Black Diamond road this afternoon and both driver and passenger died.

Thanks for hosting today. Also,"Thanks to all" for the wonderful salads, deserts, pulled pork, chili, beer, wine, and sausage. I'll bet Fred would have approved.
Please thank Jen again for autographing "The Littlest Pirate"
Hope to see everyone soon
Mike and Sue.

John....very sorry to hear of your accident last night but glad you're going to be OK. I hope it's a speedy recovery.
Aaron and Jennie... thanks so much for hosting the GTG this afternoon. It was very good to see the Corvette gang although a few of us no longer drive them....at least for now. Your hospitality is very much appreciated and I had a great time.

So sorry Aaron, planned on attending but I totaled my car last night at the track and spend all day/night at Harbor View. Have 2 lower Vertebrae and my sternum fractured.....wearing armor to keep the spine straight for 6 weeks. Well eventually part out the Vette and get another.....Hope everyone has a great time!

Well its not fun that's for sure. I'm wearing a hard plastic shell (like a tortoise) that keeps my spine aligned and is so tight I cannot take a deep breath. Hard to sleep with it on and a lot of pain this morning but I have some good meds. Have to wear it for 6 weeks so I'll be having some interesting talks with the boss cause no way I can drive. I can work from home if he ok's it, disability would pay the house payment I'm thinking. Have to talk with the track and tell them it'll be a few weeks till I can get it out of there.
Thanks for all the kind words, I'll get another Millenium Yellow C5Z someday.....

Thank you to our wonderful hosts. We had a good time visiting with everyone and enjoying good food. It was a proper GTG in Fred's honor with pulled pork and his favorite beverages.
John,
I'm glad you are "okay" considering your major crash.
Get well soon!

John, glad that you're alive. Pain is good. Means that you can feel everything.
Thank you to Jen and AAron for hosting another great get together. With or without corvettes it's good to see everyone again. Fred was missed by all of us but I'm sure that he would have approved the food, some of the drink and all of the heartfelt feelings shared by all

My apologies for being so late. Bless Jen for talking me into the estate over the phone. I have to ask though, considering I could hear the background conversations when I called, who were those people who said, "Don't tell him, Don't tell him"..."? I'm sure I heard at least two different voices so I can;t blame it solely on Walter.
I had google mapped the trip from Plateaupia and also set the GPS on my iPhone. Unfortunately in my rush to get out there, I only managed to pick up the page from the printer which described the route out of my neighborhood. Then, apparently since I failed to bring my reading glasses, I managed to have my iPhone direct me to the casino. $150 later I began to get the feeling I was in the wrong place and so set off to find the Estate from memory. Got pretty close too (Puyallup) before calling for instructions.
The slot car track was very cool. Sorry to only then find out my personal race car had reverse polarity vis a vis the track. But you have to admit that car was fast even if it only ran in reverse.
I was glad to arrive in time to see everyone. Made me miss Fred. Then I came home to find that Jet Ninja had a shunt at the track. Not the happiest end to an otherwise wonderful day.
Thanks Aaron and Jen for hosting and for allowing me toss the ball (over and over and over and over, again) for the little dog. I hope this will be a regular event, but with happier things to commemorate. I had a good time with some of my favorite friends. (some of whom actually drive Corvettes) Thanks Mike and Sue for the Scotch. Good stuff. Perfect for toasting our late friend. Those Flavor Straws were great. How did you know that Poodle Girl liked to drink single malt scotch using them? At least now I have another idea of what to buy him for his birthday.

You are all very welcome - it was an enjoyable gathering of friends. Our guests brought some wonderful food but I have to give a special "thank you" to Rhonda and Walter for bringing the pulled pork - it was fabulous. The desserts were tremendous (and calorie-free on sunny BBQ days, or so I'm told) and the Laphroaig provided by Mike and Sue was a perfect way to salute our friend, Fred!
I'm already looking at expanding the racetrack to make things more interesting - maybe we could start a monthly league? Add the optional lap counter and we'd be all set.

Nice looking setup, Joe. As Pat said, those are some nice banked corners.

My belated condolences on the loss of Fred. I don't believe I ever met him, but I have read his posts here and am familiar with who he is from his frequent contributions.
John, we just met recently at one of the Exotics at Redmond car shows. I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. Best wishes on the fullest recovery possible.

Good grief, Joe. Love the glasses. Very nerdy. The Harry Potter of Slot Car racing? Love the track too. Looks very much like the one my parents bought me for Christmas and grew to regret it. Or did Mary buy it for me?
Your sis was a cutie. May still be, I hope.
Was good to see you at Aaron and Jens'. Looking forward to seeing you in another Corvette soon.

The Vette (or whats left of it) should be coming home this afternoon. Got casters so we can wheel it the back of the garage hopefully....

John, glad you made it out in one piece. To many tragedies lately we don't need another.
Aaron and Jen thank you so much for opening up your home again to another gathering. You're providing an invaluable service that helps keep us all together. It was a pleasure seeing everyone and we're looking forward to the next opportunity.
