Any South Enders Going to XXX August 28?
How about we meet up at the Auburn Super Mall Starbucks at the corner of 15th St. SW and Market and cruise together to the show?
In order to ensure good parking spots at the show, how about a 6:30 departure in Auburn to meet kenthomas4 and maybe duramaxsdy at 6:45 at Maple Valley. Lemme know.

Safety Car
From Black Diamond it's a straight shot up through Hobart. Just head out the road across from the coal car and keep going. Maybe I will see you in Ravensdale. On my way.

FYI,
Eastside What's happening on the highways from Bothell to North Bend to Renton
SR 520 between Seattle and Bellevue to remain open this weekend, Aug. 26-29
This weekend’s planned closure of SR 520 has been canceled and will be rescheduled to a later date. All lanes of traffic between Seattle and Bellevue, along with the bicycle-pedestrian path on the floating bridge will remain open throughout the weekend. As soon as a future closure date is confirmed, we will let you know through these email updates and our WSDOT traffic Twitter feed.
Expect delays at I-90/SR 18 Interchange this weekend, Aug. 26-28
Unless you’re heading to TPC Snoqualmie for this weekend’s popular Boeing Classic golf tournament, you may want to avoid the area or expect delays. To help with the congestion, Washington State Patrol officers will control traffic at the two intersections where the eastbound and westbound I-90 ramps meet SR 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28.
Southbound I-5 reduced to two lanes in Tacoma this weekend, Aug. 26-29
Heading south or across the Sound this weekend? You probably want to factor in some extra time and travel early or late in the day to avoid major congestion. Southbound I-5 at the Tacoma Dome and both directions of SR 16 across the Tacoma Narrow Bridge will be reduced to two lanes around the clock from Friday evening, Aug. 26, to Monday morning, Aug. 29, for weather-dependent paving work. These closures will likely cause increased traffic on some ferry routes as well.
Westbound SR 18 lane closure in Covington next week, Aug. 29-30
If you travel west on SR 18 through Covington as part of your morning commute, you may want to plan ahead for possible delays next Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 29-30.. Contractor crews working for the Federal Highway Administration will close one lane of westbound SR 18 before Southeast 256th Street from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days, to conduct a nationwide evaluation of long term bridge performance.
Ramp closures planned on I-405 in Bellevue and I-5 in Lynnwood
The southbound I-405 ramp to westbound I-90 and the southbound I-5 ramp to southbound I-405 in Lynnwood will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. The closures will allow crews to finish up the high friction surface treatment work that was done in July.
Highway to Artist Point closed for most of next week If you have plans to check out Artist Point’s fantastic views next week, you’ll need to wait or work around some daytime closures. SR 542/Mount Baker Highway will be closed in both directions near the Silver Fir Campground from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Monday, Aug. 29, through Thursday, Sept. 1. If you plan to go to Artist Point before 8:30 a.m. next week, you will not be able to leave until the highway reopens at 4 p.m.
The closure will give WSDOT crews space to grind and repave sections of a 6-mile stretch of worn roadway. This is the only time the work can be done this year due to equipment availability.
Learn more about I-405 Renton to Bellevue improvements
We all know that I-405 traffic congestion between Renton and Bellevue is some of the worst in the state. WSDOT is continuing to move forward with design for the I-405 Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes project, which will add new capacity to create a two-lane express toll lane system between SR 167 in Renton and NE 6th Street in Bellevue. This project will connect a 40-mile system of express toll lanes from Lynnwood to Auburn, improving travel times and trip reliability in one of the state’s most congested corridors.
