Yeah, it was raining in Marysville :/ otherwise I might have gone. In my excitement to get my new wheels on, I realized later on, that I had the rotation wrong on the rears So I got up early, switched them, started taking off my skirts, and it started coming down.

Small furry animal. Often sold in pet stores, Looks like a weasel.

Only, most of us can afford a weasel. Wonder how they take to rain?

Sorry...

Yeah, the weather changed from yesterday....it was a light rain the whole time we were there, but nice thing is it kept the bulk of the people away from the cars. The richie dude with the La Ferrari, Enzo, F-40, California's, and a 60's GTO brought them all out. It was a pretty decent turn out considering.

Not too bad.... by my estimate the value of just those four cars alone is probably over $70 million, maybe more.

Pocket change - if you have really big pockets. GTO's alone are $50 million plus. I really think it's nice of Greg to share those cars with us.

Greg? Why did I think they were part of the Jon Shirley collection? Another Senior moment?

Not at all, Pat. Both collections are spectacular. Both Shirley and Whitten seem to be fond of Ferraris and Alfas.

Not sure if that's the right guy, don't see a GTO with the same numbers in the flicker account. Only took these two shots with my phone...

Same fellow, John. The racing numbers on the series II GTO (Whitten's) are applied for vintage racing. The other GTO in the Shirley collection is a series one. Also raced, but the photo links I sent were probably taken on different occasions. Now, if that's not enough for you, John McCaw (I think) also has a GTO, series, one, but I don;t think he lives nearby nor do I know where his cars are kept.

I can't confirm it, but I suspect Whitten's car may be S/N 5575, the last of the GTOs built.

How ar you doing? Getting better?

Correction:

Just to prove I am not the final authority on things I can't afford, I remembered that it was Craig McCaw, not brother John, who purchased the green GTO That was a couple of years ago, hence the "bargain" price of only $35 million.

If the car is kept in the Seattle area, that means there must be 3 GTO's in town.

It was a very wet day for viewing. I was surprised at the number of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's that attended. Even had a Ford GT there. And Greg Whitten was the one pushing the Ferrari's around to park them.

Recognised from photos.

Craig McCaw used to keep his collection in a warehouse on Willows Rd. in Redmond. Not sure if that's still the case. I used to hear the odd collectible car blast past my office when I worked down there.

Hi Joe. If you're speaking of Vintage Racing Motors, I've long associated that more with Bruce McCaw's operation, capably managed by Thor Thorson, a very knowledgable gentleman who also has a regular column on vintage race cars in Sports Car Market Letter.

Even so it would not surprise me at all (I've never visited the place) if Craig kept his cars there too.
