I Don't remember This, do you?
Not trying to promote anything here, but since I've collected model cars for many years I receive a lot of news on new releases. Got this yesterday.
Even at the sale price, it's beyond my marginal propensity to consume, but I thought I'd at least share the photos.
Looks like every division in GM was trying to capitalize on the Corvette's success back in the day.

Here are a couple more examples of the concept Buick and Olds based on the first generation Corvette. Can't help but wonder what a 7th generation of those cars would have been like.

BTW, Ken, I ordered one of those LaSalle models. Got a very good price on it. Should be a conversation piece among all my Corvette models. (even if I no longer have the room just to get all my Corvette models out of their boxes)
Also seem to have accumulated some 1:43-models I couldn't resist. My Loft upstairs that some of you have seen is starting to remind me of the later scenes in the Star Trek episode about Tribbles.

I actually think the Nomad version of the first gen Vette is pretty good looking.
Of course I'm an El Camino fan also so my judgement is always in question.

Not at all. That was my point in sharing the picture. Seems if one looks back in history GM was always trying to find some way to either capitalize on the Corvette's success, or looking for some reason to keep producing them so they could make a profit.
Certainly, this wasn't one of their better solutions.

If memory serves (and i rarely does so successfully) wasn't that Nomad version called a "Corvair"?

The interwebs says that Corvair was a fastback version. Sort of hints at the 1963 coupe.
