Default Christmas Came Early - New Z06

I got a great deal from Rick Conti in Ohio so I had the car shipped to San Diego to get my hand controls installed. It's more than I'd planned on buying but the price was right for this 2016 Z06 3LZ with the Z07 package. Before shipping, I had Rick mount Pilot Super Sport tires and ship me the Cup2 tires - didn't want to risk a cool, rainy drive home with those tires...

I picked up the car late Saturday and have been slowly driving home (but not always driving slowly!) visiting folks and enjoying the drive. Spent Sunday with my newly minted Jarhead son at Twentynine Palms Marine Base. Then met up with another friend and his '16 white Z06 for an afternoon of fun in Sacramento before getting my 500 mile oil change done. Now I'm driving Hwy. 101 through the Redwood forests. The handling, power delivery and overall comfort of this car is amazing. The A8 shifts incredibly fast & is a massive leap forward from my A6 in my 2008. 1,300 miles in three days and it's been a bonding experience! Save the wave!

Congrats Aaron! Yellow is definitely one of the best colors on the Z06 and the car looks extremely badass with the Z07 package! Can't wait to see the car in person.

Dude, that is so cool.

I got to see how you get the chair loaded in the C7.

Congrats.

Congratulations Aaron and yes the handling, comfort and performance of the C7 Z06 is a step up compared to my previous 09 Z06.

Congratulations Aaron. Looking forward to seeing the car around the Pacific Northwest. If you are interested, join the Facebook page for the 2019 caravan to Bowling Green. Now that will be a cool trip!

We'll have a gathering at my house or somewhere central shortly - otherwise, I'll probably do the E@RTC a couple times next year.

I'll have to make a short video - it's a little more challenging than in my C6 but still works!

I'll get some posted shortly - they are very sweet and allow both hands on the wheel when driving, unlike all other hand controls. I'll get some up soon.

Thanks. We will definitely be doing more drives. I used the PDR driving through the Redwood forest this morning and it came out well. Even showed the rear end trying to kick out under acceleration at about 80 mph... Torque for days.

I'd love to do the caravan but I'd have to be solo - the boot is much smaller than my C6 so I can only fit my wheelchair and a smallish bag in the back. Driving back from CA I've got my second bag in the passenger foot well...

Thank you. It's bright - first time I saw one compared to my velocity yellow, I thought it was more faded. Certainly doesn't seem that way now! Every time I stop, there's a bee trying to pollinate.

Guido Simplex hand controls - gas ring (squeeze for throttle) and the brake is just above the right knee - push for braking
