Default Driving the new Vette....

Well, made it the Ashland Creek suites (Oregon) from Huntington Beach. Had great fun coming up the last few California Mountains, it was pouring snow and slush, the car handled it awesome but its lower body and wheels are filthy. We head home tomorrow. Drives nice, all that aero stuff seems to add some downforce at speed, which was nice in the pouring rain at times. Had fun with a Challenger the last 50 miles. Pics soon as I can get it cleaned up.....

Congratulations on the new car. Enjoy the ride up. How about some pictures of it when you get it up here, before cleaning it.

I can probably snap a few, have couple on my phone also from down in HB. It has a thin mask on the nose to protect it on the long drive.

Very happy for you. Nothing like being back in a Corvette after a time away from one.

Just got home a little over an hour ago, these pics were from our Hotel (awesome place) this morning just before we left. Car was pretty dirty from all the snow and slush from the night before. Before I got home I took it a local Brown Bear and sprayed it with soap and hot water and got most of the grime off, then dried it in the garage and got it pretty clean. The Mask is off now also so you can see the CF lip. (has a bad mark in the middle in the clear coat I hope to fix sometime.) More pics later, but I need to get the valve springs changed, add clear bra, change the shifter to my C6 one, add my engine covers, my Jake Mats, and more stuff.....Just under 9k miles on her atm! Woot!

Currently it has Johnny O'Connell Shocks and Sway Bars, Hawk Wheels (18/19) with 305's in the back, the CF Lip, Side Skirts and rear Spoiler, covers over the trunk wells plus a Corvette Carpet cover over the entire trunk, and a nice partition, a super short shifter (too short, don't like it) and a Blackwing Intake and a Catch Can. Also black out plastic applied to all turn singles, back lights, and black letters in the Corvette on the back.

Congrats on the new car! Not a fan of those wheels, but otherwise it looks great (I think stock C5Z wheels look better).

Congratulations on the new car. It looks great and the yellow trim on the wheels is a nice accent.

I plan on getting then powder coated in Gloss Black sometime in the future, think it'll look better IMO. I like the stock wheels too, but finding the wide width for the front 17"s is down to about 4 tire makes at this point. Having 18/19's opens up the field hugely.....

Sweet looking ride! And the right color to boot. Congratulations on being back in the saddle.

Sure wish we had In-n-Out burgers up here although I had no idea there was one in Medford (not too far from where my parents live).

Yeah Aaron, no In-N-Out is more then a 1 day drive from an Distribution Center, cause everything is fresh. Medford is stretching it. And its probably a good test for Oregon. If they built a distribution center in say Portland, then they could serve most all of Washington. Don't know their plans though. My 2 oldest Sons both worked for them for 5 years in SoCal and loved it....

Looks pretty nice John. You know how I feel about black wheels, but that yellow stripe adds a nice touch. Poodle Girl did something similar to his Superman car and it's amazing how something like that can set the car apart.

Right, fourOnefive?

Glad you managed to find a car similar to the one you had. Will make you easier to find at the XXX if necessary.

I expected a comment about the wheels from you Phil! Ha Ha. It's a bit dressier looking than my last one, also rides a bit harder too but not bad. Emailed Corvettes of Auburn to get their take on Valve springs, need to cover the trunk in Rammat like my last one, and add some of my goodies to it as well....but its nice having a Z06 again! Makes me happy when I go into the garage....

I don't mind the color, I just think the design of the wheels isn't as nice as the stock C5Z wheels (which look really good in the regular silver as well as black). But considering it's more of a benefit in terms of tires choices, it outweighs the look factor (imo).
