Default Powder Coating

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a place to powder coat my wheels around Snohomish county? And has anyone heard about it being harder to powder coat chrome wheels?

Powder Coating Inc (425) 743-4393, in Everett is reputable and done several projects for me. Best ask them about chrome.

They would etch the chrome off I'm sure before powder coating. Kamran, do they do good wheel work? I don't want my wheels to loose their temper, I worry about the heat doing that when baking. I want to get all four of mine done in Gloss Black....

I've had them do motorcycle wheels for me, and they are still looking great after 5 years. I've seen them do car wheels and look great.
If you want them shiny, have them apply clearcoat on top of color.

I think they charge something like $200 for a 4x4 pallet of as many parts as you can fit on there to powder coat.

There's been a lot of debates about the heat, but from what I understand it does not harm the wheels, since the temperatures are not high enough. I'm guessing my wheels get at least as hot on the track, with rotor getting much, much hotter than the powder coating process temps.

I had them do my Works wheels on my E92 BMW in gloss white, before I bought my Vette. They do good work, quick turn around, and have a showroom with TONS of colors.

id commend selling the chrome whe ls to someone on the forum. Or maybe even a swap? Seems a waste to powder coat over nice chrome.

I would honestly love to do that if anyone was interested. Maybe I'll make a post about it on here first.

I am way south of you, but I had Olympia Powdercoating powdercoat my chrome wheels black. They had to put them in an oven and get them warm, then sandblast the chrome off. I think it cost 280 bucks. I'm not a fan of chrome and the wheels had some curb rash anyways.

Yeah that's a bit south for me. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels either. But on further reading and asking around about my wheels, apparently my wheels are knockoffs made by TopLine. So I think I will be trying to sell mine and look for real speed line wheels. No point in spending money to paint heavy knockoffs in my opinion.

Derv, is your car a C5? If so you'd open up a lot more tire choices if you went to 18/19" sizes. Lots of nice wheels out there.

Yes I have a C5 Z06. I was looking for some new wheels also but still want the light weight like stock. I was thinking forgeline, but I'm not crazy about them.

These guys have some nice wheels: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ur-c5-z06.html

And I love the Forgestar F14's: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ic-thread.html

Mine has Hawk wheels and I think they'll look a lot better Gloss Black then the Flat Black they are now. Just picked it a little over a month ago. Not even 9k miles yet...

I believe powder coating temps are about 450 so not near hot enough to cause problems with temper, etc...
