Default LS Swap in a C3 . . . . . .

Hey all,
I'm considering an LS swap in my C3 and am wondering if anyone close to Everett Wa has done this?

I'd like a contact to share ideas and avoid pitfalls.

Also I'll be looking to source a motor. I've pre-shopped on line and all the crate motors are the exact same price whether from Jegs, Dealers, or other sources. There HAS to be a reliable source willing to negotiate??

Other options would be a nice used motor but I'm not sure I'm savvy enough to identify a nice used vs junk used LS.

Anyone here with local knowledge ESPECIALLY on LS motors and knowledge of the swap itself AND willing to speak up, I'd appreciate it!

Yes, I can google, and find a complete list of needed parts, etc.
Just looking for local knowledge and maybe a car to look at.

I intend on doing all the work myself in my garage.

Thanks in advance
Scott

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Tom Wong in Vancouver (WA)? Is this outside his scope of work?

Just wondering?

Great links in the reply!
I learned of Brads Customs in other threads.

I'll contact the sites and see what info I can learn.
For those interested, I intend on doing the work myself as much as possible.
The goal is to keep the 69 looking stock. stuffing a nice LS under the hood and having fun. It is pretty easy to find a list of necessary parts on line and given the lack of local responses it looks like I will be more or less on my own. The internet is a wealth of knowledge but having someone there that has been there always helps.

The biggest question is when to start! If I start now, I'll lose a good portion of the summer. Maybe I should collect parts and start in the fall!

I recently corresponded with Tom on this very subject. Tom's shop hasn't done LS swap into a C3 before. He suggested I contact Lonnie at Gilbertson Machine. Lonnie took the time to talk with me about the details of the project and gave some leads on where I could research some kits for engine mounts, fuel tanks, and other parts to avoid fabrication costs. The more research on your part and the less fabrication, the less you pay the shop to do it for you, basically. Great guy, PM me if you want his number.

I've done a lot of internet research so far and have found from the LS forum sights that list the parts needed and also a site that offers up just about all the parts it would seem I'll need. It's an extensive list but will be offset by the sale my my current motor.

Anyone needing a crate Ramjet 350 and all the goodies that it needs to sit in a C3 contact me.

It is still in my car and in perfect running condition.

Scott
