Default PPG Epoxy feathering to edge

I am repairing an area and have used PPG NCP 271 primer surfacer
and went over it with several coats of DP48LF extending a bit further
out with the epoxy.

My question is the P sheet for the epoxy talks about minimum film
thickness. I feathered it out and would like to apply base coat over
it. Is this OK or does the entire bumper have to be sprayed with epoxy?

My reason for not doing the entire bumper is I am trying to minimize
film thickness. If I spray the entire bumper with epoxy then base
coat will have to be sprayed over the entire bumper.

It is always better to spray a coat over the whole thing. They are concerned with the edges lifting. You probably can get away with not doing it if you go real slow with the base coat, but I wouldnt take the chance.
