Clear coat respray ?
The clear coat on my '86 is peeling badly.
The base coat underneath is in good condition. I brought it to a shop I used to spray my '80 and he suggested sanding off the clear, applying primer. blocking and respraying the base/clear.
I was thinking that maybe I could remove the remaining clear coat myself and the existing base coat be resrayed with clear.
I just had my '80 sprayed and it would be a while before I could afford a completely new paint job on the '86. Maybe even just doing something to the exposed base coat so it looks OK until I get it repainted.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed
