Default Body seams

I've noticed that most people grind out the seams and re-fill them with layers of fiberglass mat and resin. Would Evercoat Vette Panel Adhesive/Filler accomplish the same results with less effort?

possible but i prefer epoxy resin with mat . the main thing is to not have a hard edge anywhere. you need to feather the seam out.

I used the Evercoat VPA after I used epoxy resin and matt... Still went through a quart of that stuff...

Thanks for the replys. But why do this in the first place? What will happen if you don't do anything to the seams, just sand them smooth and even? Will they show through primer and paint?

Eventually the adhesive used at the factory will start to degrade, shrink and peel. At that time it will all show through your newish paint job. I would not even consider a total repaint without glassing the seams in.

I bet you can take a screwdriver to the factory seam filler and it will crumble. The factory stuff did not hold up all that long.

If you want to know what it will look like it you don't glass it, just look along the fenders at some C3s at the next car show you're at. You'll see some with two parallel lines going all along the seams.
