removing weatherstrip glue

Does anyone know what solvents/products are OK to use to remove old weatherstrip glue?

I am concerned that some solvents could damage the fiberglass of the door or body.

There is a lot of yellow glue residue left after I pulled off a small piece of weatherstripping.

I used lacquer thinner and a 3M pad. I am going to repaint the car. If you want to preserve the paint, I don't know what product/chemical to use. I believe 3M has an adhesive remover.
