Default hole in my floor

I have a 1996 corvette and there is a hole in my floor right where the footwell ends (I can feel the carpet through the hole), like someone put a jackstand through it or something, my question is, it looks like it is made up of all fiberglass? am I wrong on this? and if it is couldn't I just clean the area out and sand it down and re fiberglass and resin it back solid? Or do I need to take it somewhere and have a floor welded in?

Thanks,
Charles R

You can laminate it but you CAN NOT or SHOULD NOT use POLYESTER fiberglass resin...you need to use an EPOXY resin...such as WEST SYSTEMS epoxy resin. You can obviously use fiberglass mat.

I would clean it CAREFULLY and DO NOT use water. I would mask it off from the under side and go in on the inside and prep it with a grinder and do all of my repairs on the inside

SO YES,,,the seat needs to come out so your carpet can be pulled out..

But it is your car...do as you wish.

PLEASE take the time to get the car up in the air so you can give me the true picture of ALL of the damage you have.

I can not see how this is the right side ...it looks more like the front outer corner of the left side.

you are exactly right on the location, that is what I believed to be the corner of the footwell, am I wrong?
