Default Recommended Primer

I know there has been a lot of discussion about using a polyester primer especially after stripping the paint off a C2 and/or doing fiberglass repairs. I would like recommendations for the following (including actual manufacturer/brand):

Primer:
  1. For use on "raw" fiberglass
  2. High build
  3. Easy to work with

Other Supplies:
  1. Paint gun preferably from Harbor Freight?
  2. What to buy with the primer? For thinning, activating.

I am a newbie to spraying primer out of a "gun"; I am a rattle can user. So please don't leave anything out !!

Hey DUB - I got your VM. Sorry - I work a lot of hours so my availability is limited. My car repairs are typically weekend warrior stuff.

I am prepared to go the gelcoat path. A few questions will help:

What gelcoat do you buy?
What do you have to buy with it? Activator, etc.
Do you recommend completing all repairs and then do the gelcoating or can I just do parts of the car at a time?
Can I do the gelcoating at home in my driveway?
What grit of sanding do I do before spraying on the gelcoat?

If you don't feel like typing send me a PM when I can call and I will do my best to make myself available.

Thanks again
