Default Can a GoPro Suction mount be used on XPEL Paint covered surfaces?

As above, wondering whether i dare apply the suction cup of the GoPro on the hood, top, back or side of the car that has XPEL installed?

Are you concerned about damaging the paint or loosing the GoPro?

I would be hesitant to use the suction cup as attachment to anything moving, especially when detachment means loss or damage to the camera.

GoPro adhesive mounts are not that obtrusive.

No... I am wondering if the suction will harm the XPEL at all. Attaching the GoPro to the vehicle exterior paint is pretty much normal these days with the right mount. I am worried about the paint protection...

When in doubt...don't do it.

OR

Take the chance and live with the results.

Ya but... I simply can't be the first! Come on someone! Even if our friendly XPEL rep jumped in...

We've used our GoPros with suction cup mounts on a few cars that have been wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE and it seemed fine, although when possible we used the glass, as it provides a much better hold on the Go Pro, because we didn't want to lose them on the road/track.

Honestly...if I were to want to do what you plan on doing...I would call XPEL and talk with someone in the tech dept. Who better than the manufacturer to know the capabilities of their product.

Obviously...they should not be held liable if the coating gets marred due to someone applying the suction cup with dirt or silica particles on it. That is just basic common sense.

And not knowing their product....and I might be speaking out of the other side of my mouth...but possibly you can apply a small patch on top of the XPEL currently applied and use it for your suction cup...and when done...remove it.
