Default Wiper Door upper molding on 70 coupe

Just wondering if there is a better way; other than the clips, to hold the upper molding on the wiper door. The molding is slightly bent and the clips seem to push it up in certain area's. Has anyone tried to use any adhesives like stainless steel silicone to hold the molding in place. It looks like if I push it down all along the molding to the door it would still look straight between the clips, or get rid of the clips all together.

thanks.

Being slightly bent is...not good. Just a little bit off can make it looked all 'jacked-up' when installed.

I know I myself...would stick with the correct clips and the 2 special drive rivets to hold the outer ends to the door.
