Default Firewall crack at birdcage

Can I put some adhesive in this crack and fix the one rivet that has backed out? The birdcage and windshield frame are in excellent condition. I'm assuming this is just old bonding agent that has deteriorated over time. Thanks all.

When I am repaired this same area where the seam sealer has failed. I do like you apparently have done...I dig out as much as I can...make sure the steel of the birdcage is GOOD..and then apply a catalyzed flexible seam sealer ...which will all depends if I can go right in with the seam sealer...or if I need to apply an epoxy primer on any bare steel or go through any rust removing procedures. When all of that is all good to go...then that is when I apply SEM beige seam sealer.

I seriously doubt that was has failed is an adhesive for structural bonding.
