Expected HP/Torque increases after bolt ons
OK - I know this subject has been talked to death but I never got in on it. My '02 Z06 isn't really broken in @ 9100 mi (put a whole 1k mi on in the last year). I recently started bolting things on: 160 degree therm, LG Long Tube Pro w/small cats, Borla Stinger cat backs & Halltech Venom. I used to do cam swaps myself 40 years ago but I'm still peeling scabs off my arms from the LGs. Next week a 25% underdrive and cam get installed. Some of the cam specs are 228 intake & 232 exhaust duration. Intake lift is 595 & exhaust is 605 (don't have degree of advance/retard specs). I don't race the car - just looking for some nostalgia sounds and performance from back in my wild days and trying to make the alterations in the order that makes sense to me. Guess I'd better pray to get 425 on the dyno with this set up. I'm saving heads and intake porting for later - social security doesn't pay too well.
Unless it's more cost efficient I can't understand buying new heads when you can shave, cc, do a 3 angle valve job, etc to the stock heads - what am I missing other than the grey cells permanently lost due to alcohol years ago?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It's a good shop doing the install and dyno work. They have a Lingenfelter stroker in now installing twin turbos looking for 800 on pump gas. Wish I could be more excited about getting my ride back but I've had Shar-Pei pure bred show dogs for the last 30 years and am now watching my 8 yr old male AKC Champ (best ever) slowly die of cancer. I'd gladly give my Vette away if I could save him. Thanks, Glen

Yep - Did it!
We hit 425.something on the dyno after the cam & underdrive install. The tuner said he tunes for 90% - likes to leave 10% margin for error like on fuel shut off, etc. In my case it's probably a good idea - I tend to forget to watch the tach! Wonder how long it will be before this will seem slow?
