Default Experience with gears?

I was wondering if I could get some input form you guys that have made the switch. I have a rear diff with 3:90's going in soon to replace the 3:42's in my FRC. Car makes 465/424 to the wheels.

How much more "Seat of the pant" improvement did you get? Was it worth it to you? My biggest SOTP mod have been the heads so far, so just trying to get a feel for things.

Thanks!!

I make the same power you make and I have 4.10's and I absolutly LOVE them! You will feel a big difference. I would consider going 4.10's though. Unless you got the extra cash to do it again... you may find yourself wanting more.

Its a big difference but I never get the reactions of most the guys that do certain mods seem to. I've added over 150rwhp and 110rwtq to my car as well as gears and I've never really had the "holy ****" reaction.

Now riding in a TT Viper or TT Gallardo gives me the GOT DAMN reaction.

Gears will break loose easily on the street so very sticky tires are needed.

I was running C6 Z06 stockers and I was hooking up great for the most part. Even from a red light it would do pretty good.

Wow. That's great. They toasted my F1s without trying and my Hoosiers @ 30 psi spun a little but were much better.

Sorry to hear about that.

I also just placed an order for a RPM Stage 4 M12 today to compliment everything.

So far I have the transmission, rear diff, clutch, trans/diff brace, tunnel plate and a few supporting mods getting ready to go in.

I don't know why you would go with a M12, The M6 is a much better tranny... M12 with 3.90 and tires are toast. Plus 1st gear is worthless...

I kinda liked my M12 with the 4.10s. I was shifting into 2nd at about the 60' mark but it got the job done with a 1.46 60'. Just my opinion.

i have the m12 with 390s on the street...traction is fine...my car must be weird...never been one of those cars with a traction issue...felt good on the track....i would have done m6 and 410s...that way the 3-4 shift dont suck so bad...I did run almost 128 with my m12 and 390s before it pooped the bed

Well..1st gear is worthless now with the M6 and 3:42's. I decided on the M12 after reading tons of posts on here of various opinions between the two with the diff/gears I have to put in.

Sadly there is no one in my area that have these to take a ride with.

Of course I will have DR at the track.

What tires are you using for the street? Just interested as your car makes more power than mine does.

Speaking about avatars, what up with yours? It looks ghetto; 8 mile.
