Default 10.369 in +1000FT DA-1.45 60ft!!!!!

Well we had a lovely rental scheduled at MIR again Friday Feb 18th. Amazingly this worked out to be almost a 80degree day in the middle of winter. The day started off sticky, humid with 100% cloud cover. Racing started around 9:30-9:45 and the first corvette up broke the rear so I about peed my pants thinking oh crap this is just not a good idea. After a few cars went up I decided to start slowly. With a easy launch and shifts down through I came back for another run. I launched the car around 4800rpm and was rewarded with a 1.48 60ft time! HOT DAYUM! I let the car cool several times partially due to it was crouded with probably around 40+cars easy so it would get backed up. I got to meet up with some old and new friends which was great. Thanks to Paint it Black for the burger and soda lol! As the day went on the temperatures rose from 66*degrees at 9:30 to 73 degrees by 12pm and up to 76degrees by 3:00pm and 78degrees by 4:00pm where we started looking for shade. I did get sun burned aswell LOL.
I have video of the runs and some of the nice guys from the Mercedes and BMW forums took some nice pics of the car and video. I made approx 15+ runs which puts near 70 passes on the Monster Stage 3 clutch that is still working amazingly.

Best run of the day came towards the end.

60ft-1.454 new PB
330ft-4.272new PB
1/8mi-6.642new PB
1/8mph-104.78--down 1.5mph
1000ft- 8.666
1/4mi- 10.369
1/4mph-133.16-down 1.5mph
Time of run 3:54pm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC8lsu0PhTA

This was a more aggressive slipping of the clutch launch and approx 5200rpm when I started releasing the clutch and rolled into the gas faster. Shifts werent great today but theres always room for improvement.

Honorble mention run:

60ft-1.487
330ft-4.335
1/8mi-6.706
1/8mph-104.68
1000ft-8.734
1/4mi-10.444
1/4mph-132.57mph
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCRbLIZaENM
Video of this run Sebast can make fun of the shifting was horrible on this run but it was the 2nd pass and I was nervous after watching 2 cars break.
Time of run 10:09am Thanks to Adam with a gorgeous BMW supercharged taking the clean video!

Honorble mention run for comparison of weather with similar 60fts to previous best run in -1000FT Da
60ft-1.518 60ft-1.501
330ft-4.387 330ft-4.316
1/8mi-6.749 1/8mi-6.660
1/8mph-104.96 1/8mph-106.05
1000ft-8.770 1000ft-8.662
1/4mi-10.473 1/4mi-10.345
1/4mph-133.13mph 1/4mph-134.60

That is a testimonial of approximately +2000ft DA increase at the same track, same car, same driver, same mods. It goes against what i say that every 1000ft in DA raises or lowers your ET by approximately .10 but it is what it is. Cause if that were the case the 10.36 pass could be a 10.16 pass and I'll be the first to tell you in -1000DA again that will not happen for my car. At best I am thinking 10.24's in its current state with a duplicated 1.45 60ft. So the car has more potential to go much faster yes. Will I make it go faster YES More videos and pictures to come soon everyone and more details. Getting ready to head out with the wifey for a bit

Dear Sebast19x Good luck in your quest to be #3 for a LONG LONG TIME!!!!!!!

Great job Bruce. Congrats again. You have this car figured out. Better air will produce that ET for you.

nice to meet you and aj . sorry i made you break your exhaust when we lined up the one time actually it loosened you was trying so hard to catch me. yes i was running a 100 shot and ran a top end at 137.23 but only a 9.913 pass the 60ft was a little weak a 1.379. another slower 9 sec pass ran my fastest top end of 137.64 pass congrats on that 10.362 was a great one with the conditions. also stay out of aj's camaro you'll break his rev limiter.

Dude I cannot believe that you almost matched your best ET in that air. If (prior to reading) this I had to predict what you might've run I would've guessed a best of maybe one single 10.49 with a bunch of 10.5s and even then only in the early early morning or the last pass of the late afternoon.
This just proves that air quality is NOT the end all be all of determining factors in what makes an NA car run quicker. Yes your trap speeds certainly were effected by the DA but the added traction benefits that the warm temps gave you made up for SO much versus the (typically desirable) cold weather you had last time.
It's a real fine balance between that good power inducing air and cold tires/cold track temps.
A 2000 foot swing in DA does not always provide the vast gains (or losses) that so many believe that it does.

I'm VERY impressed with your car and your driving.

Nice passes Bruce. You seem to learn something everytime out which is key to finding the bottom.
Glad someone's keeping us entertained by racing.
I told you those 60's were possible with a good technique and a good clutch.

Thanks RobZ I appreciate it and as always mean a lot coming from you as usual. I honestly feel stupid now in saying to many even 5 minutes before this happened I told PREZ06 that a 1.470 60ft is about the best the car could do LOL! Proved you right and myself wrong as usual there. I almost still can't believe it. I didnt want to say it but I will. That launch felt most unimpresive. My 1.48 60ft "felt" way better than that one did. Hell even the 1.51 "FELT" better.
I really do try hard to pay attention to the RIGHT people on here of what they are doing, what to pay attention to and do ALL the LITTLE things that add up to the BIG gains in the end. I just wish I could get to the track in good weather with You, Gary2004Z06, Tirecraft etc to help fine tune me and the car. I didnt do any of the things I talked to Gary/Tirecraft about due to I figured it was going to be a waste. Well once again I would've been proven WRONG I think I could've made a sub 10.345 pass but I figured why press my luck with all the cars breaking, lack of water in the burn out box and crazy track prep with a warm day.
