Has anyone run one of these 460+ rwhp C5 Z06's against a stock C6Z?

Yup and if both have 3.42 rear gears the C6Z walks away like a dingo eating your baby!

Not yet but I intend to... Should be a good race IMO, with a bit more HP but a less torque (if I remember the C6Z specs)

There was a guy at the shop with a C6Z that saw my car, found out what power I was making...how much I paid for the car and you could see his eyes/eyebrows perk up. He immediately asked where I found the thing and I said "Corvette Forum! Where else!" He was like, "dang...haven't been up there in a long time. I should check it out."

you need more than a H/C in a 346 C5 Z. I don't care what a dyno says that car will get walked.

I'm not sure I agree with that.

would be interesting to see how such a matchup would shake out.

i did find 1 vid on youtube...bolt-on/cam C5 vs stock C6Z and the Z pulled slowly. but c5 stuck close. who knows if the mods listed were factual.

Rob I am not talking about your car. I meant the car like the OP car. H/C car with stock gears. Yours was a H/C/I 410 gear. The TQ of the 427 is no match for a H/C c5z.

Do you think that 3.42s would really matter in Rob's car or another H/C build against a stock C6Z?

Are you saying Robs H/C/I 346 is similar to the OP car?

I plan to test this out as well. I think the setup has a bunch to do with it. This combo makes 450+ but less then 400tq. A combo with 450-460 and 420+tq i think that would make a big diff.

I was also thinking about that vid with the cam only c5 losing buy about 2-3 cars every time. Figure some heads and a fast would have done wonders in that vid!

I just pulled up Rob's dyno graph and it has < 470 HP. Not saying everything is equal; however, a well built H/C 346 CI motor can and will outperform a stock C6Z. If one has the resources, I'm sure Rob would build one for someone.

Ahhh, don't get it...didn't I already put up some good numbers? ; )

If you're talking about 1/4 mile numbers...dude, I just got the car 2 weeks ago. Never drag raced in my life. Once I've got my clutch issues fixed and am up to speed in the car, I'll 1/4 mile it.
