AMR 416 Maiden voyage & PBs
After a few years of not going to the track and upgrading the old 384 I finally got to run her at Atco yesterday.
Nice job on the rental TSAB; was fun doing it with you.
Was also nice to see some old faces and a few new ones.
Got some much needed seat time with the new motor, clutch and Drag pack.
Huge improvements with almost every pass. Was like being a noob driver all over again.
There is much more left in the car and plenty left in the driver.
Haven't done any tweaks to pull out extra power or ET. Just going to work on launching this bish first.
Run 1: Granny pass to get a feel for the new setup.
Left at 3,000 and rode it out
1.79 60'
7.2 @ 99.6
10.92 @ 134.2
Run 2:
Left at 3,500
1.64 60'
6.9 @ 98.6
10.7 @ 134.6
Run 3:
Left at 4,000
1.58 60'
6.8 @ 100.4
10.63 @ 134.3
Run 4-8:
All 1.5-1.6 60'
6.8-6.9 @ 99.X
10.6-10.7 @ 133.X
2nd to last pass: (Air cooled some and D/A was near sea level IIRC)
1.57 60'
6.9 @ 103.1
10.66 @ 133.05
Last pass:
1.54 60'
6.8 @ 100
10.61 @ 133.24
New best mph in the 1/8th 103
New best ET 10.61
New best MPH 134.6
A HUGE thanks to Tommy at AMR for taking the time to fix the bugs my car was having and putting together a bad azz motor that is far more capable than it's driver.

Scott, you have the MPH ! If you could get the launch down to a 1.4 !!...
It was good to see you finally back racing again! Spiral Grey Rules!

Congrats Scott, gotta love them 416's. Great driving,,,you are definitely going to get faster once you get to tweak things a bit. What heads/cam/intake are you running and how much compression?

more seat and you just keep getting better. good to see you back at track scott take a little time for yourself and hit another rental early next year. congrats on your times and a sucessful shakedown. you could easily come to etown on a couple saturdays next year and run the 10.5 index if you cant commit for the whole series. also thanks for helping me load up car on trailer.

Scott, you did real good for all the changes, Motor, clutch and tires etc. Seat time will get those ET's to start dropping. Thanks for the help yesterday with the rental greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for the encouragement and kind words.
The heads are ported LS3s, 102 FASt and an upper middle range cam in terms of lift/duration.
Power was ~560 corrected and torque was ~540.
Having to unlearn the brutal engagement of the Spec twin and a broken diff was my biggest challenge of the day.
Interesting how a harder launch on the new clutch felt much gentler on the drive train.
That McCleod RXT is quite nice with excellent recovery.
A big thanks to TSAB for the suggestion.
Pedal travel is a little longer which delayed my shifting some. I also had some trouble with overheating my clutch fluid and blew the 1-2 shift with a low 1.5 60'.
Have yet to play with the new QA1s. Just focused on efficient launching for now.

We'll have to grab some drinks one of these days.

Still an incredible clutch for launching. I really slipped it HARD the first few times and I couldn't believe how it didn't glaze up or get sloppy. Just the one mid-day pass that I got locked out of 2nd on the 1-2 shift.
