Default 99 C5 LS1 TTiX 6 speed - 9.96@145.1

Here's the timeslip. It felt great to finally run 9's. Thanks to Robz, Gary2004Z06, and winters97gt for the tips on launching a 6-speed. It's got more left in it, but that will happen with some practice.

This was the third pass of the day and DA was around 200.

Thanks. The car has always had good mph. I really want to knock the ET down more. Now that I have a feel for the 60 foot, I may add a 2-step and see what a couple pounds of boost off the line will do.

I had the tire pressure @ 16 psi hot and the sidewall was wrinkling well.

Congrats on getting the 9 second pass; we had a bit of headwind as well.

What is the setup on the car? Particularly the drivetrain.

Yeah, I think it was around a 13mph headwind. Vettes do good into the wind, but no wind would make it easier.

I have a video facing backward on one pass that shows it. I know there was also someone there with a hd video camera right next to the car. I'll see if I can get that one and I'll process the one I have.

I think you caught it on the other thread, but here is the drivetrain:

•Stock MN6 transmission and 3.42 Rear Differential
•B&M shifter, McLeod RXT Twin Disk, Aluminum flywheel, DSS carbon shaft, DTE brace, 300M Hardened output shaft - both sides

Thanks, Rob. I seem to drop a tenth everytime I go to the track. I hope there are a couple more left. I wouldn't mind a low 9.80 or high 70.

Can't go wrong with going to the track and cutting a new PB and then driving the car back home still in 1 piece.

9.7's @148 are coming soon with more track time. Even better if you can drive and net. a 60' of 1.42 or better. In great DA 9.6 is my guess

Awesome. I can see you going in the 9.7s with the sixty coming down into the low-mid 1.4s. Looking forward to updates.

9.7x would be great. I think I need to get the clutch out quicker and be even smoother on the throttle squeeze. I may also have to go to a 16" tire and wheel. How many people have removed their front swaybar, mine is still attached.

Here's another view of the launch:

I still have mine on too....always wondered if it would really help my sixty foot.

When I was at the Bayou Drag event a couple of weekends ago, there were two vettes there that weren't using a front swaybar. They were both automatics, but they had quicker 60 foot times and seemed to be able to keep the rear tires loaded throughout the entire run.

I may have to give it a try the next time. One guy just disconnected the driver's side end link only.

I went back and looked over the timeslips and it adds up to 22 passes so far this year.

Here's the progression:

March 29, 2013, Royal Purple Raceway, 3 passes; 10.44@143.61 w/1.72

April 5, 2013, Royal Purple Raceway, 4 passes; 10.21@145.31 w/1.63

April 12, 2013, Ben Bruce Memorial, 1 pass; 10.09@146.39 w/1.62

April 20, 2013 Lonestar Motorsports Park, 6 passes; 10.04@145.49 w/1.62

May 5, 2013 Royal Purple Raceway, 8 passes; 9.96@145.11 w/1.58

I haven't touched the boost controller or the timing. This was done with driving and ve table adjustments and getting on a track with good prep.

The 9.96 happened on the 17th pass with this combo and there is still room for improvement. Next goal is a sub 1.50 sixty foot. It's been 1.54, so it's within reach.

Ben, definitely pull the sway bar links next time you go. Two 18mm wrenches. More front end lift for sure..

Here is an in-car video from the 9 second pass. Looks like there was some slight tire spin in 1st gear. The rest of the pass was fairly clean.
