Default Anyone run Race Star Industries wheels?

Here is the site:

http://www.racestarindustries.com/

They seem to be as light as Bogart for a fraction of the cost. Anyone using them on a C5?

Do they sell them with the correct offset ? That is usually the problem with most other makers, or they only have 15" then 18" and up.

That's what I'm trying to find out. When I called them he said they had 17" front and rears (wide and skinny) that he "knew" would fit without a doubt. He said he also had 15" rears that he thought would work but I needed to measure something on the rear. I saw a set at Super Chevy this past weekend on a new Camaro and they looked pretty nice. I'm trying to see if any C5 owners own a set so that I could see a picture and find out about sizes. I know all four would be less than $1K.

Yes they have correct 17" offsets to fit without any grinding etc. it's just too bad they don't offer 16"

Do you know anyone who owns a set? I'd like to see a picture on a C5 or even a C6. I know they're light and yes, it would be better if they had a 16" rear but I've had good luck with my 17" DRs so that may work.

I found this picture:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...-pack-f-s.html

What do you think of the look? M&H makes a 28" skinny front bias tire and a 28" drag radial to help fill the fender gap and get more sidewall. I think this would be a pretty light combination (as light as Bogarts?) all for less than $2K.

Also, the picture is on a C5 Z06. Would that BS be the same for a coupe?

Yes, I thought so as well. C5s IMHO don't look as good with drag wheels as say F-body cars but these aren't bad. If you had the car lowered, or a taller tire, to reduce fender gap I think it would be alright. Most importantly though they're inexpensive and light!

They are not light......17x4 w/ M&H 185 = 33lbs.... 17x4 wheel is 16.5lbs without the radial. But it makes for a great "street" drag pack, seem to be very durable. But IMO, awfully heavy for a true track wheel.

What size wheels are you exactly looking for ??

Something light where I can do a track drag pack. I'm not sure if I completely love the Bogart D10s but along those lines. Those are HEAVIER than my CCW Classics with Firestones (which are heavy tires).

16 x 10 and 16 x 4. Provided everything will clear on a C5.

just checked my Bogarts last night.
Front 5"x16" with M&H tire = 28 lbs
Rear 10"x16" with Hoosier slick = 38 lbs

GTO 16" spare with M&H tire = 25 lbs
Camaro 16" rim with ET Streets = 42 lbs

Bogarts aren't quite as light as I thought then; unless you go with the 15" set-up. Maybe I'll just keep my CCWs and find someone to trade my black centers for polished.

Quote from "94z28racecar":

Rear rim/tire about 41lbs(with hoosiers 275-40-17)
hoosier tire chart has the 275-40-17 @ 21lbs which puts the rear rim at 20 lbs.

Just weighed a 16' Bogart with a hoosier 255-50-16 at just under 35 lbs..
35lbs - hoosier tire 22lbs makes Bogart 16"rear rim @ 13 lbs

20 lbs.
-13 lbs
--------
7 lbs difference - about 50% heavier then a 16" Bogart

Bogarts for the win. They are a great looking wheel (D10's) and are pretty light too
