First time at the track. Advice welcome
Hey everyone, Went to the track today and just looking for some feedback and advice on what you all think since im not quite as smart in this department.
My set up is mainly
01 z06
Trickflow 220 heads out the box
VRX5 cam
Fast 102 out the box/NW 102 tb
LG headers O/R X
Vararam w/ power duct
LS7 clutch and flywheel
Nitrous outlet plate(Dry 100 shot)
Stock tranny and diff
16" CCW drag pack
Made 455/414 on motor, 545/568 on 100 shot
Best pass on motor
60ft-1.98
330-5.08
861/8-7.67
1/8 mph-96.32
1/4-11.76
1/4 mph-120.06
Best pass on 100shot
60ft-1.86
330-5.03
1/8-7.54
1/8 mph-100.31
1/4-11.48
1/4 mph-125.42
I left the line between 3500-4000rpm just slipping the clutch and the 1.86 60ft was the best I got. the 1.86 60 ft I dropped the tire pressure to about 18psi. I have no idea what the DA was but I can tell you the sun was shining bright and the temp was about 90-95degrees all day.
Any other info needed just ask and I will try and answer. I had fun today no doubt, but that 10sec pass is what im looking for now and only trapping 125mph on spray kind of surprises me. Any advice on how to better the 60ft or opinions is greatly appreciated.

Without knowing DA mph seems a bit low on both runs, although there is a lot of time left with that 60' what tires are u running. Car has low 11's all day NA and mid 10's on a good day when the car is on the jug!

Nitrous should add 10mph...depending on when you hit it.
95 degrees isn't exactly friendly drag strip weather for sure.....

That heat isn't fun for the driver either!
There is a chance that heat soak was causing it to take timing away. I assume the nitrous doesn't go through the MAF...which is where the Inlet Air Temp sensor is. Not sure about the Zo6, but the LS1 starts removing timing above 85 degrees. Depending of course if the table is stock.

Both of you sound right, Im new to the nitrous thing. I think with better air and more seat time I can hit the 10s. I need to figure out how to get the 60ft down to around a 1.5.
I thought I would see around 125mph in the 1/4 and around 135mph on the spray but I could be wrong.

My guess is you need to launch at a higher rpm (mabe 5k), come off the clutch a little faster getting into the gas at the same time, and work your tire pressure to match the track. I run as little as 12.5 psi hot (any lower and I swerve side to side on the big end). It helps to hit a Track rental too so the track is prepped.

Those are near stock times (11.7X that is). Humidity is killer. Don't feel to bad. If you give us the name of the track and date we can get the DA for you. I am willing to bet your car performed as expected if the DA was bad enough.
