Fastest 1/2 Mile C5 List
#162
Hi guys, I just picked up a single turbo C5 last month and want to build it for 1/2 mile races. I'd love to attend one of these events where I can pick some other C5-owners brains.
Where do all the West/Pacific region folks go to? No Fly Zone? Shift Sector? When's the next one?

C5 Z06 2002, 418 CiD, NA, Mexico trip, R888R 305/35x18, MN12/3.42...whatever, traction is always the issue, starting in second.

Add me to the list. 160.94 today at Indy Airstrip Attack.
Got a lot of work to do to get faster. Power is there and completely being held back by my inability to cleanly launch and pretty much useless 1st and 2nd gears.
My first pass just because it's entertaining to watch me "find the power button" as the announcer said (was a blown away 2nd gear short shifted into 3rd out of the powerband then it came on like a freight train):
Best Pass from the timeslip above, the announcer at the end of it is the best part:

Thanks! I just wish I could get the car to front half like it runs on the back half. It's been YEARS since I've tried getting this or any car to get out of the hole and then with all the power, I had no change. I'm positive the car has a lot more MPH in it and I have some things to try for next year.

I haven't been able to find a C6 half mile list so if you don't mind a C6 jumping in I also was at the Indy Airstrip Attack on the 12th and 13th of August. I was listed as #146, a 2008 Z06 running in N/A class and reporting 620 wheel horsepower. My best run was 160.49 MPH, right behind Sean Walls 160.94. My car has a stock 427 lower end with a RPM Stage 4 upgrade including ported heads, RPM's Stage 3 cam, 2 inch headers, 103 NW Throttle body, a Tony Mamo ported MSD intake, stock LS9 injectors and a cold air intake. I used stock chrome Spyder wheels with Toyo R888R's in 345/30 R19 size at the rear. First time running the half mile though I do have a lot of long ago quarter mile time on cars and bikes including being National record holder in B/SS motorcycles for several years (like 50 years ago at ATCO, NJ.)
Thanks for letting me chime in and if there is a more correct place for C6's let me know. I am already planning gearing upgrades for next years airstrip attack. Great Event.
