AutoClubDragway Test and Tune
Test and Tune this weekend, in Fontana. I'll be fine tuning my C5 Z06 on the track and getting some seat time for the first time. Should be pretty fun. I'll post up the results.

How'd it go? I wanted to go but, had other obligations to take care of.

Super windy and warm conditions. 1200 ft, 75 degrees.
12.6 @ 114 on 10 year round old street tires. First time out. 2.14 60' times. Need more seat time. I'll be up there next time to do some more tuning.

That's not bad. What are your mods? Last time I went, my best time was 13.5@111mph with a stock 03' z06 and on the stock 2003 Goodyear tires.

That's pretty good especially with that 60' time. Plus I bet the DA was not favorable as Fontana as it rarely is there.

Cool. My first run I ran a 13.4 @ 111. I tweaked my tune and it ran the faster time. I have a vararam, 36 lb injectors, LS7 Manifolds and exhaust, and tuned by me.

Thanks, man. I don't like to make excuses, but we had a crazy *** headwind all day. I was hoping for 120 traps, boy....was I wrong!

Do you have any baseline numbers, in other words data from pre-mod runs?
120 mph trap would be about 75 more rwhp over stock from my crude estimate.
How many cars were there (I know its tough to guess), how many passes, and finally how fast were they working the track?

That always usually happens. When I went I was expecting mid-high 12s at around 114-116 and ended up with 13.5 at 111. Lol.
What rear tires were you on?

Don't fear you can get there even at Fontana. You've got to nail the launch and get the 60' down to do it though.

Lots of cars. Maybe 200? I think they were working the track fairly quickly.
There was a c6 Z06 with a Modded 427 that did 11.6 @ 121. A 2011 grandsport with a mild cam, ls7 exhaust that was doing 12.4 @ 115.

Fun stuff for sure.

I got in three runs. Next time, I'll be there with drag radials in March, with a goal to reach 116 - 117.

I'm likely going to try Feb 21 for the next event. The Street Legal events are cheaper and I've found them to be more productive.

Agreed. $20 vs $50, and you can essentially do the same thing for less.
