Super Chevy this weekend ... what's going to break?
After the camshaft install from hell this summer (stripped crank threads), then a long road trip that ended up with a $600 tow home from another state due to a broken starter (on a Sunday afternoon) I think our bugs are worked out on the C5. NA we're making 429 and on nitrous it's 600 with the NANO kit.
Tomorrow we're heading to Thunder Road Raceway in Gillima, LA for the last Super Chevy of the year where the DA could be negative since good air has arrived. Before the cam install we've been 11.5x NA with 1.50 60' and that was 60 horsepower to the wheels ago.
How long is the transmission (which is stock) going to live? I use a progressive controller and delay the nitrous 0.5 seconds to avoid immediate traction issues. Our goal has always been 10s NA and 9s on spray but I'm wondering with our recent luck what is going to break this weekend?

And oh yeah ... I put a winch in the trailer this week in case we explode a transmission and have to drag the car back in.

Thanks Ron. We'll looking forward to the weekend. We haven't raced since May and appreciate the cool weather that has rolled in. They have some match races with Kye Kelly from Street Outlaws scheduled so it should be a pretty good show.

Vette stripped ring\pinion on launch and black brick snapped the TC bolts from the flywheel on the 1-2 shift.
Good luck, it happens to us all once in awhile.

Thanks guys. We don't make as much power as some of you but we're sneaking up on it and making more power than we ever have. Kind of to the point where stuff will start breaking; especially on the nitrous. I guess that's how we find the weak links and then fix them.

Air is good tonight. Not great but good. DA seems to be around sea level.
Made several NA passes playing with air pressure and the best run has been 1.53 60', 7.17, 11.33 @ 119. Cam only with stock 241 heads and LS6 intake.
Turned the nitrous on with a 0.5 delay and it blew the tires off on the initial hit as well as several more times. Peddled it on and off to a slower 11.61 but with a 123 mph. Going to delay the hit after the 60' and see if it will stick. This car does not like nitrous and continues to fight me. We have a few more hours tonight to play with it. I'll figure it out.
