Default New best in the Red Sled...

I went to the rental that Gary put together at MDIR and right off the trailer, ran a new best. My tuner, Ed Hutchings and I worked on the tuning a bit between passes and whittled it down a bit more.

Enjoy...

Kickass !!!! I've gotta get my 60 ft down so I can be a boss too. My 1.57 isn't cutting it.

What are you using for diff and 1/2 shafts ? Th400 trans ?

Not only does Pete have a great looking and running car but he's an outstanding individual as well. He had never seen me before yesterday but was right there to help out when tragedy befell us on our first pass. We broke an axle and he gave us one out of his personal stash to get us going and not have the trip wasted. It's a 4 hour trip one way for the crew over in Elizabeth City and over a 5 hour trip for me from the Outer Banks of NC. You don't run into such a person every day. Pete, I cannot thank you enough. Thanks to you, a Corvette finally lit up the scoreboard with an 8 after unsuccessful attempts from big power cars with slicks all day. I cannot say enough good things about you.

So far I've only been able to foot brake to 3000 rpm at the track. I can only get 2800 on the street. I MIGHT be able to get 3200 at the track on a stick day with some VHT... I really don't want to have the converter loosened any more. I like the way it drives currently and I don't want to jeopardize the streetability, at this point. Lol

Thanks Gary, again for setting up this rental.

We're all square with the axle. And he put up the number he was looking for, so that makes it even better!

I'm always happy to help out a fellow racer... it's what we do...

Don't really think he's looking for it back, Gary. He's just that kind of guy. I think he was truly happy for us once we got the car going again and how it ran.

It was nice meeting you and talking to you Pete. I have to say though, after watching you dance on the roof of your car I wont be expecting to see you on dancing with the stars.

I just read the scan from the 9.45 pass. I left at 3700 foot braking. According to the scan, it flashed to 4920 before it even registered 1 mph movement.

This converter goes to 7100 on the trans brake with the 2-step disconnected.

I need it tightened up a little bit. The calculator says 13.6% slip.
