Kumho Tires
I recently purchased a set of kumho tires.
245/45/17 Front
295/35/18 Rear
The Kumho tires are in my opinion VERY VERY slightly under the bar of performance in contrast to the competing brands (though they are actually RATED higher than most overall in the actual test/performance data - go to www.tirerack.com) - so that's just my SOTP feeling, but the diff in price is PHENOMINALLY worth it if you don't have the stereotypical corvette budget. If you have all the money in the world, don't get the kumho's. However, if you like the best bang for the buck the Kumho's have it, HANDS DOWN.
Only negative is the 220 thread = performance loss begins at 5,000 miles. New tires at 15,000 miles. However, the price is so cheap that you can buy two new rear tires after 15k miles and break even with the competitors. = )
BUY THEM FROM www.tirerack.com
After extensive searching, they still had the best prices.

In the past, I've had some of the most expensive tires available including Michelin Pilot Sports on my car. I am very satisifed with my purchase of the Kumho Ecsta MXs.

I am now on my second set of 295/35-18 rears, the verdict on the MXs is YES! Heard the same from dozens of others as well, including several Z06 guys. Great all-around street tire and decent wear. Beats the Toyo T1-S, Dunlop SP8000, Goodyear F1 GS-D2 in my personal experience. I can cruise (very quickly) at 600 RWHP with these tires, the only street tire I've ever used that can keep up at that level, just requires a little more "respect". At 500+RWHP wheelspin is almost non existent with a little care. Think 95% of BF Goodrich KD performance at about 65% of the cost.

I have the ESCTA V700s and I got them for DE... still have not got to a big track but I did get to run them at the 1/4 a few nights. Very tricky to launch but low 1.9s are there. Best I could do is a 12.55 @ 114 on V700s. On 295 35 18s BFG DRs I am doing 12.35 @ 114. Hope that helps.

PS I do NOT like the sand blasting on the streets but I have buddies here with MX and they love them... maybe I should have saved $ and went with MX, used the $ and put it for LG LTs...
