A quick google search shows nothing for Primeaux, inc. , and that address is a residential home if you look at the sat view. Someone's pulling a fast one.

I noticed that as well.

Technically I could cash this check, and just keep the money and my item.

Maybe I will just tell them the check didn't arrive, and tell them to send more.

You deposit your check. They inpart get all your info because the bank will send a letter to yiu and them. They will have your routing number and your bank account number. Then they will start making fake checks with your info and drain you. Once they have that if they are smart enough, they'll get your ss# and start getting credit cards under your name.

Your a target and they are probably not the only ones looking at you right now. These guys are like voltures. Saw it on MSNBC thing on tgis crap about 6 months back.

How much were you selling the truck topper for?

How much is the check difference?

You could tell them you have cashed the check and await their "moving" company (along with the cops).

If you honestly don't believe you can protect yourself, and feel you need an outfit like Lifelock, then you probably do need them.

It's a scam alright.

They'll contact you in a few days, claiming they sent you the check by mistake (and of course, they'll assume you deposited it) and ask you send them a refund. As these kinds of checks can take 2 weeks to discover as frauds (but are required by Federal Law to clear your bank within 1 business day) you'll be out the money long before the fraud is discovered.

If it is a real check, it's coming from another bank account they've already scammed...

open a new account at a different bank. Use that check to fund the account. Let it sit for a month. If it clears, pull the money out, close the account and party like a rock star!
