I'd like to see some L98 engine pics.

I'm about to remove my upper intake and valve covers to replace the injectors. I thought while was there, I would freshen the engine bay up a little while waiting on my injectors to come back. Checking/relooming wires, cleaning hard to reach places, sanding and painting various items, ect..

Just looking for ideas of what to pay attention too. TIA

will be watching this closely! :bigears

When you have the fuel rails out get something that polishes alum./ chrome and notice the difference it makes to them.
Also you can give the plenum/runners and tb a good clean up.

Okay, since you asked:

Dan...Vinnie. I was talking spending a few days cleaning it up. Not $4000 and 4 months. :willy:

Thanks for the pics, my minds already coming up with "stuff".

Here's a picture of mine:

I didn't clean everything up super well, this is a race car to me. You can see the areas that should have got more cleaning though, so it's a good example for you? The brushing on the intake is from a brass brush in my drill.

Not Too much done here, I need to clean mine own up:
Also taken with my camera phone, not the good camera.

The hardest part of the job ( I am in the middle of doing this to my 86) is getting the injector wiring harnesses under the plenum rails neatly (and to fit) and then getting the plug wires routed and seperated correctly . . .

89vert 01-02-2007 09:31 PM

Just cleaned up a bit.

My picture above is with the stock routing and keepers, just new wires.

I will look for some close ups. IMHO, the factory layout is great. I'm not a fan of wires or hoses in plain view.
Here is the factory layout for 86

My previous 87. Nothing fancy or expensive. Just paint and wires/looms from Summit Racing.
