Vette parts in Los Angeles

I spoke to a small parts shop owner in Southern Utah who told me there is a huge used parts place in Los Angeles. All he had was a name - David - and the phone number 310-329-5334. Said he's hard to get a hold of, but he's got 3 warehouses and some trailers with all types of vette parts. Everything from wrecks to complete cars.

Anyone know of this place?

Thanks, Rich

Hey Rich that sounds like Cranes. If it is there's a reason he has so many parts stock piled. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, he is in Gardena. I do not know what his current inventory is but he used to advertise a lot of stuff in Hemmings.

:willy: :willy: David, sent me on a wild goose chase last summer for some windshield mouldings. I spoke with him, told him what I was looking for. He said he had the part, which he did. When I drove my 90 miles, one way, to purchase the parts he changed his mind and was unwilling to sell me the piece of moulding. He rembered he had it committed to another party who had mailed him a check 2 months ago and he had yet to send out? I do not recommed using david.

Vette parts in southern California

I know this is an old post, but just in case someone comes along and reads it looking for information, here goes.

I've been restoring a 63' coupe for about 15 years and have delt with both David Sokolowski and Dave Crane.

Dave Crane is in Clairmont, Ca which is in San Diego. He has a small shop and specializes in certain things, he will also do restorations, but I didn't get that involved with him.

David Sokolowski is in Gardenia Ca which is part of the Los Angeles jungle. He is actually moving his operation to a new huge warehouse in a different part of LA. And yes! He has lots of parts for almost every year. If you ever get the chance to see his inventory it will boggle your mind. Mind blowing.

He's a pretty easy going guy and knows his stuff. His prices are fair, but the parts are in a variety of condition. You may have to search through several parts to find the one you are ready to shell out the cash for. And one more very important part. He knows what his parts are worth and he has a price for everything in his head. Infact he has his whole inventory of over 100,000 parts in his head. No computer.
If he tells you his price....that's the price.

He's got a lot of information in his head too. he can tell you the critical difference between parts and thier features.

David's #310-3295334 and is current Dec, 2011

David's a great guy! If you are impatient, then go somewhere else.

I have gotten stuff from him and If he says he has something, he will eventually get it out for you, but when he does, absolutely don't stall or negotiate, because he will sell something to someone else in a minute, while you are thinking about it. He is a busy guy and a nice guy and he is in the process of moving! He is also cautious as to who visits his warehouses/lots, so don't disrespect his way of doing business. The best is to catch him at Pomona, let him know what you are looking for and be prepared for the call or plan to followup at the next Pomona Swap. And bring your cash! You also should know exactly what you are buying. He isn't there to give you technical support nor to train you on Corvette wares!
