FourFather Eddie Hill's 100 MPH playboat for sale!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MY SLEEKCRAFT IS SOLD!

The SleekCraft has been bought and paid for and is now in Oklahoma with a fine gentleman who is a real boat enthusiast!

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments on my boat, and for all the bumps to the top of the ads!

Cheers!

Eddie

FourFather Eddie Hill’s SleekCraft tunnel hull V-Drive for sale!

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...raftleftpr.jpg

It’s a 1980 tunnel hull V-drive with a manual-shift B&M Turbo Hydro TH-400. It has three forward gears, neutral, reverse, and park. No torque converter and no slippage. Park position is great for tightening the prop nut, or changing props. So you can back the boat off the trailer in reverse, idle along VERY slowly in low gear to politely ease by fishermen or respect no-wake zones, use second gear to launch the boat and then very quickly shift to high. It always stays in whatever gear you select, it does not ever shift itself.

With my 540 inch, aluminum head, single Dominator carbed, 93 octane, Big Block Chevy engine, it will run right at 100 mph on the Rex speedo. Some days a little over, sometimes a little less, depending on wind, chop, temp., and how long I hold the throttle open in the little cove where I play. That’s without the Nitrous. I tested the Nitrous Express system a couple of times to verify that it works right (it does), but where I play, and the way I play, I just never felt like I needed the Nitrous, and it still has the original fill in the bottle.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...raftengine.jpg

I’ve made a lot of modifications to help the performance, handling, and durability. To keep the nose from getting too high with a full-throttle launch, I have added aluminum cavitation plates, with the center one raised or lowered with a very fast-acting electric actuator. There is a trim switch on the steering wheel with an up button and a down button, and the square gage on the top of the dash is the trim indicator. This deal works like the up or down pedals in a racing flatbottom, but a lot easier on the left leg! Trim the nose down, for a hard launch without the nose getting too high, or for good cornering, then use the middle for medium speed cruising, or for high speed, trim it up as high as you are comfortable with.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...kCraftrear.jpg

We added aluminum plate inside and outside of the center running surface, to make the strut mount and the rudder mount stronger, make the running surface of the bottom truer, and to prevent the prop wash from eroding the bottom of the boat.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ember07025.jpg

There is a Jones mechanical tach with a tattle-tale hand that records the highest RPM since the last reset, and a Rex Marine speedometer, also with a tattle-tale hand that records the highest MPH since the last reset. This time out, you can see it ran 96 mph at 6400 rpm. (I've seen 7200 rpm)

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...tdash95MPH.jpg

Besides the normal oil pressure, water temp, and voltmeter, I also have an oil temp gage, and the fuel level gage has a switch that reads left tank when the toggle is left, and right tank when it is in the right hand position. The red-knob switches are for two separate electric fuel pumps, and the blue knob is to arm the nitrous system.

The boat has red and green bow lights, and a removable white stern light. They all work, but I don’t run the boat at night and leave the stern light removed.

One of the pictures shows how I plumbed a water pickup with a forward facing small scoop on the bottom of the boat to feed the water jacket of the V-drive, and another rear facing outlet, to let the cooling water out. Keeps the V-drive cool, no matter what.

My reason for selling is that my kids are grown and doing their own thing, and I do not need a four-place boat anymore. It’s the fastest, prettiest, best-riding and best handling four-place boat I’ve ever been in, but now that I’m usually out by myself, or with just one passenger, I no longer really need a four-place boat, so I bought a Hondo runnerbottom AND a Deaver hydro, both with two seats! You just can’t have too many toys!

This is a one-owner boat that I ordered for my own personal use, while my dealership, www.eddiehillsfuncycles.com, was a dealer for SleekCraft. I have the original invoice and order, and it has never been sold. As you can hopefully see from the pictures, I’ve kept it in excellent condition, but it’s pretty hard to believe how nice it is, without actually seeing it.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...raftfromhi.jpg

I have removed the engine from this boat and have it in a Hondo runnerbottom 2-seater, so I prefer to sell the SleekCraft as pictured here the last time out, late fall of ’07, except without the engine.

My asking price for the boat, less engine, is $19,500.00. If you would like the boat, but want it turnkey, ready to take to the lake, the original engine that came in the boat could be re-installed. A friend of mine here bought the original engine when I removed it to put the 540 in, but he has not used it yet, and would probably sell it for $4500. It’s a Harman Marine 454 inch 440 HP BBC that was in perfect shape when I removed it. I did not have the speedo in the boat until I put the 540 in it, so I don’t know how fast it is/was with the 454. And it might not be totally out of the question to put the 540 back in, just the way I ran it last, but I’d really rather not do that. (I hate to lose the time it would take to build another engine like it)

We love to trade for motorcycles, and might be willing to look at almost anything in trade that we could resell through our dealership at a small profit. We might be able to help with financing, ‘cause almost all the motorcycles, ATV’s, and personal watercraft we sell are financed.

There
are a lot of pictures in my FourFather gallery at Texas Hot Boats, and also under FourFather on Photobucket.com

I’ll try to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful boat! Good luck with the sale as the boat market is in the toilet right now (I know, I'm trying to sell one too:( ). Have you tried HotBoat.com?

I also wanted to say that I think it's very cool that you are posting and are a member here! I've been fan for many years and have always admired your many accomplishments as well as what seems to be a very good guy. Glad to see you and Ercie are doing well in retirement!

Bump! :D

My friend Chris Davidson, used to be editor of Hot Boat Magazine. They had a revolution and he is now putting out a new magazine called Performance Boats Magazine. Here is a link to their forum spam section:

http://www.performanceboats.com/html...splay.php?f=54

You may want to put your boat in there. I also have a box of their premier issue and can send you one if you'd like.

Thanks for the tip, and the link! I looked a bit and that looks like a good place to buy or sell-

Thanks for the offer of the magazine, but you don't need to go to that much trouble.

Thanks again!

The water-injected and HPC-coated Cobra headers, and the Polished stainless steel scoop and Gaffrig stainless spark arrester are included with the boat, even if you buy it less engine. That way , if you have a big block Chev engine, just put a v-drive pan and boat water pump on it, and you're good to go!
