seat belt retractors?

Has anyone purchased aftermarket seat belt retractors, my 1971 convert. did not come with any and the belts just lay on the floor when not in use?

jshug;

Are you planing on converting your lap belts to a shoulder belt setup?
That's what I would like to do to my convertible also. One question is how to have them go thru the seats like a coupe. If you do it please let me know what it takes.

1974. Beginning of interior clean-up.

Retractors cleaned up and lubed. All new securing bolts mounted with anti-seize and covers painted.

Shoulder belts added.

I have since added four new plastic belt stops in oxblood to finish the job.

Very nice job...

But the retractors I mean go on the lap belt itself, there is a coil spring inside which pulls both halfs of the belt to the center.

Sorry, I am not sure what you mean. That does not sound GM stock. You must be looking at aftermarket systems.

In fact I should have looked at those Eckler's links you posted before I replied. But I did not. Sorry if I wasted your time.

I had the second one in my first car in 1963. They have been around a LONG time. :cheers:
