C5 vs C6 Z06 Dyno Chart

Ed Hutchings was working on a C6 Z06 and just for grins, I asked him to overlay my last dyno and the stock C6 Z06 graph. Ed did the work on my car also.

Here's what it looks like. My dyno is blue. I think I'll be keeping my little motor a while longer. :D

BTW: Ed's dyno is notoriously stingy. :toetap:

403 w/ L92 heads L76 intake and a little BRE "Justin Timberlake" cam. It's a very mild driver with insane tip in.

If Ed overlayed my graph and the C6Z it would be hard to tell them apart.

This onetime at band camp, Ed overlayed my dyno on a C6ZR1, and he had like 4 more RWHP than me, then while the car was cooling off I did the throttle body by pass mod, and I ended up with 5 more RWHP.

Im keeping my engine to......................until it blows, then im stealing kevins

only because the caps and fuel rails match my exterior color.
outside that, that motor's a dog. :willy:

What's a throttle body bypass mod?

It's a tube that diverts hot water away from the TB,don't waste your money. If I am reading that guy correctly he was just making a joke about that pacticular mod.

Yes im joking with an old friend, but actually im willing to bet more than half of us have done the by pass. in theory, your not heating up your throttle body, thus producing cooler air going into your manifold/motor.

its quixk and easy to do, but pretty much worthless

I should black mail kevin with a video of his first dyno test on tht motor

haha, cool. I thought I'd read about that before but never knew what it was so I thought I'd ask. I'm shutting up now!

Numbers for the C6Z seem a little low. Don't they pull about 450 on a normal (less stingy) dyno?

SearayC5 02-25-2009 12:49 AM

Yeah those numbers seem a little on the low side.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Ed's dyno is stingy but it is very accurate. It's a heart breaker for a lot of people. My car will repeat the numbers over and over again every time it's on his dyno. Wonder what my car would make on some of the "happy" dyno's out there.

They normally make 443-445 bone stock on my dyno. They're very predictable.

This one was low because it had all of 8 miles on it. It has about 50 on it now. I'm sure after a good break in, it will jump up a good 15-20.
