If I need my engine looked at it is coming to VA Speed. Your equipment looks to be at least 30 years newer than where my short block came from. According to your web site the prices are right about the same.
Once I get my car back together, I will probably come down for you guys to freshen up the tune. |

Mike,the compression will be in the low 11's on this engine.This isn't an all out engine.We're trying to build a reliable,very drivable combination.The cam will be reused as a baseline,but Kevin has agreed to change cams as we feel fit as long as the driveability stays very mild.most of the rest of the valvetrain will remain the same,the springs are PAC springs and the intake is a ported l76.Richard is working on the heads,when we get them back it will only be a short time until dyno.
This level of detail is used on EVERYVirginia Speed engine,from street to race.This is a std no frills build,same as anybody would get buying an engine from us.People sometimes question why our prices are higher than others for the same build-well,it's not the same build,the same parts might be used but the attention to detail and the precision of the machine work is much higher than most.When buying a street engine from Virginia Speed,you're not buying a street engine,you're buying a race engine you can drive on the street. :party::party::party: |

A little update:
Richard has the heads and is checking them over. He will be running his new program on the heads and reports 380CFM on the intake with the 2.20 intake valve. We're also replacing the stock L92 exhaust with some nice stainless valves which should flow a little better themselves. Ed reports that the engine is going together. Crank was in good shape. A little polishing and it's in the block. Pistons and rods ready to go in. We did talk about some cam ideas pending the results of the current cam. It will be tested on the engine dyno so changing the cam is no big deal if we go that way. |
word on the street is Kevin's car is lost under a snow bank and the engine is in a DOT snow plow.
