Headers for a 1976

Im looking for some good headers that will fit a 1976 stingray corvette 350 small block. Know of any?

Hooker ceramic is what I put on my 75 and 76. Along with 3" exhaust pipes. They made such a sweet sound and went on with no probs.

I use Hedman headers number 68301. Smog Legal in CA and great quality.

Same here. I decided to keep the A.I.R. pump/system on my '80 L48 just in case the smog police return. And, it helps burn off some of the unburnt HCs that exit the engine. That way, I need only add a 3-way cat converter (and gut/butcher my dual exhaust sytem) to be in compliance.

I bought the Jet-Hot coated 68301's direct from Jet-Hot back around 2000. Coated inside/outside.

Dynomax full length headers flow & fit great, now also sold under Flowtech & Summit brands.

I don't care which make but do yourself a favour get some that don't transfer heat or wrap them before you put them on.If I cruise at 65 trhey get red hot and kill my feet.

Summit/Dynomax headers here. The fit is fantastic.

Hookers seem to be a favorite too.

I have Hooker Super Comp headers on my '79. Installed with no problems. Fit perfectly. Did have to grind the header flanges slightly to allow me to get a spark plug socket on a couple of plugs. (I have Trick Flow heads with angle plugs.) Otherwise the install was a no brainer. Haven't had a problem with heat from them, but I doubt that has anything to do with which headers you use. Probably has more to do with how well the passenger compartment is insulated and sealed.

Hooker Comps here
If I was to buy them again I would get the headers with the ceramic coating:thumbs:

Hooker ceramics are on my 76. Installation was easy.

After installing the Hedman 68301 headers to be legal in CA, what pipes are used and how do they include the A.I.R. exhaust connection as all I see available are the stock ramshorn headers with A.I.R. or is it a custom install?

Thanks

McJacks are good too. They offer their shorty with Air tube fittings. I used them on my 78 with no issue.
I was even able to rig up the stock heat riser and AC bracketry...(With AFR heads too)

They connect directly to the stock exhaust.

for my 76 that I just did an engine swap with I used obx stainless steel long tube headers and they fit on the Dart heads

I am thinking about buying these headers from my 76 as well but have some CA legal questions:

1. What did you do with the preheat stove pipe that comes from the bottom of the Air Cleaner housing that goes into the stock header?

2. How did you install the EFE actuator to the heat riser for smog? Did you just get a 3" version for the end of the long tube headers and fabricate an extension for the actuator valve?

Thanks

Posted this twice as another forum member may have passed away :(

I'm still having trouble trying to figure out how all these CA vettes are using the long tube headers with AIR system and passing emissions.
